folding the nutz in omaha hi

Playing Omaha Hi $50 max buy-in. I'm in bb with a junk hand containing KQ. 6 players see the flop -- A 10c Jc. So I have the nutz. I bet half the pot, two guys call and the third raises the max. I can't see this guy doing that without the nutz, and since now I have to call a huge bet to play for half the pot, I decided to just let it go. Plus the guys still to act behind me may have a set and a flush draw, in which case i'm in really bad shape. So was this a good fold?

You are getting 2:1 on your money. 19 cards scare you though. 3 aces, 3 jacks, 3 10's, and the 10 remaining clubs. However, since you will not improve i would just lay this down. You aren't sure if anyone else is going to call and your hand will not remain the nuts too often. 19/45 cards on the turn you have to worry about. If it doesn't improve then you have to worry about 21/44 cards on the river. Even if both people call one will probablly drawing to the nut flush and the other would have a set or something in which case you'll do no better than split the pot with the reraiser.

I would have check/folded the flop. The current nuts will more times than not NOT be the nuts be the time all of the cards are dealt. You have no way to improve your hand (from the limited description you gave). 8)

From my limited understanding of omaha, you have a very vulnerable hand right now. You have no redraws on a pretty scary board. While you have the nuts now, it usually won't be the nuts by the end. The guy who raised could have the nut straight with a flush draw and be freerolling you the whole way.

Thanks for the feedback. But would you really check the flop? What if it gets checked around and the guy on the button bets the pot. Now I don't know where I stand. I figure by betting out I at least know where I am without risking much.

I agree you can't call a huge re-raise in this case but just out of curiosity would firing out a full pot sized bet be completely horrible in this situation?My thinking is that a half pot bet would be laying the players with big draws the odds to call the bet but a pot sized bet may take down the pot on the flop. I realize this is one of those cases where you're not favored to win against the huge flush/boat draws that are possible given the board but I'd think that firing out a full bet would fare better than a check or mid level bet.I personally hate seeing this type of flop when I play, especially in early position where you can end up with callers and reraises so there's a lot to be said for the check/fold as well.Flame away and feel free to explain why this logic fails...

The more i think about the more I agree with checking the flop. My position is terrible and this is definitely not a good spot to risk a lot of money. But I still don't mind betting out on the flop, if only because I don't trust myself to fold to a bet. By the way, would you play it differently on a rainbow flop?
