I'm not used to this converter...did you get all the money in on the flop or the turn?If it is on the flop, of course. You usually want to call with the nuts.If it is on the turn, you still had to call, definitely. Good hand, bad suckout. I don't know why you are asking advice on this hand, because it seems like this was the easiest hand you've ever played. Maybe I'm reading it wrong.

i couldnt put all my money in on the flop or turn, but i did reraise every opportunity to max, my main question was theres any way to lay this hand down after the river brings 4 to the straight. I had $107 invested and it was another $140 something to call the river.

My bad, it's just that is says "all-in" under the turn play, and then has nothing under the river play. Since there is no river play written about, I assumed the money had already gone in.

dude, you post nothing but bad beats in strategy.stop.you know you played it fine.what the hell is the question? you got all your money in as an 80% favorite.really, post the hands you have trouble with, not the hands you lost the most money on obvious bad beats.no offense intended, you know that.aseem

Ease up, guys. This isn't an obvious turn decision. The site he used happens to post results, that doesn't make the turn call any better unless he could see the other guys cards, which we'd assume he couldn't.

my bad. i didn't see that he wasn't the one who bet on the turn. :-) yeah, i think it's still a call. the chance that you're ahead + your strong draw for when you're behind make this a call.i don't think it's that close, either.aseem

i don't think it's that close, either.Really? You're only getting 2 to 1 on the call, you're in big trouble if it's a straight. This needs not to be a made straight *a lot* for it not to be close.Good luck.

board is 9-8-7-3 rainbow, right?there are four types of hands that you're up against:- a straight, against which you're a 4-to-1 dog.- an open-ended straight draw, against which you're a 4-to-1 favorite.- a gutshot straight draw, against which you're a 9-to-1 favorite.- anything else, against which you're either drawing to 1 out (overset) or your opponent is drawing dead (a pair, bottom two pair, etc.) or to 2 outs (top two pair, top/bottom two pair, etc.). for simplicity, i'll say you're a 9-to-1 favorite since it's _possible_ you're up against 9-9. this is VERY conservative, btw.let P be the probability we're up against a straight.we'll take the average of the other possibilities, which is very conservative (because i think you're up against the last possibility much more often), and for the times he doesn't have the straight, we're, on average, a 7-to-1 favorite.if we're up against a straight exactly 63.3% of the time, we break even in the long run.if you estimate that you're up against a set anything less than 63% of the time, you make money.i do believe that we're up against a straight way less than 63% of the time here given the flop action, and i don't think the turn call is that close.aseem

if i wasnt sincerely looking for advice i wouldnt have posted it here, i post bad beats in the bad beat forum. For one PL Hold'em is fairly new to me, but regardless of it its PL or NL that turn call was not an easy one for me because I was getting 2:1 and the guy played the flop just like a strong OE draw with the standard reraise against my flop bet (which i would be expected to do since I raised preflop). No way you could see this from the hand history, but it took the guy about 45 seconds to call my re-reraise to $100 after the flop. I knew 100% i had the best hand at the flop with top set obviously, but I felt the guy had a very strong draw and since no flush board it had to be a straight. When the turn came and was one of possible straight cards and he pushed I was really put to the test.my guess is if you didnt see the results you may have had a different response. peace. dna
