limit omaha river play with trips on board

Like a few other situations in limit poker, river play in omaha when trips on the board (and no low possible, if o8) should be near automatic because of the few possible hands.Assuming heads-up at a 50% flop o8 table with fairly straightforward players, what hands in the lead do you bet, check/call, check/fold with? (This seems analogous to the clarkmeister.) The check/raise option seems dependant on the play on earlier streets.If in position and checked to, what is bet/call, bet/fold, check? If in position and bet into, raise/fold/call?I know this is situation doesn't come up that often, but I've seen it a few times today and it seems simple enough to resolve to be useful.

My guess is that you'll see a showdown with any pp. I might call a bet with AK. Any pp might be strong enough to bet with in the lead. Quads and overfulls are obvious jams, but I'd guess a raise becomes a call around 77.

You know that you have to use TWO of your holecards right? With that board, the bets hand that you have is 3 - twos with an ace and a king. If you bet (and please note I am not telling you to bet, but I am also not telling you to bet), would you consider your bet a value bet, or a bluff? The answer to that question right there will go far in people giving you advice I think on this scenario (not to mention the question in the first paragraph of my post). :wink:

Yes, I know you have two use two cards, but that's exactly why AK is so strong in this situation, especially in o8, and I would consider it a value-bet. This is, however, a borderline case. I think it's highly unlikely that we'll get check-raised (and if we do, we'd be up against at least an overfull), so the question is with which worse hands will we get called? The BB may likely call with any A, fearing a bluff on a missed draw, but then again, this is a small pot. I would clearly value bet any pocket pair in this case in either position.[edit: just less than 1/3 of all omaha hands have at least a pair. That's almost exactly the probability in HE of your opponent having a flush when the board has four of a suit, hence the clarkmeister comparison]
