Im capping that turn every time, I also like the check on the river. Nh.

Try not to worry so much about "protecting" against a flush draw. They almost always have the correct pot odds to call. Instead think of it as they only have a little over a 20% to win at showdown from the flop to the river. Therefore, on the flop, you make about 0.8sb for every bet. On the turn, if the flush draw comes in, you make even more on the bet :-) So keep pumping the pot as you did when you think you are against a flush draw, and don't worry about the results of the hand.

this is interesting. the pot was so big i was thinking it would be wrong to bet because i could cost myself two bets if SB check raised. is it a value bet when you're almost certain someone made their flush?

also, you cant protect against flush draws.

i know, and that's why i posted this hand. this is a "pushing the edge" scenario, isn't it? i'm not protecting my hand, because a flush draw is getting correct odds to call no matter what on the turn, but i'm just betting due to an equity edge, right?

You can't protect against the flush draw. When you have a set, ignore the flush draw and play accordingly. 8)
