he's gay betting a weak ace. i would have to think he would 3 bet 2 pair here.
You'd be wrong. I'm inclined to believe villain has AJ, A5, or 55 more than some other Ax.

so why didn't he go nuts on the turn?

I just called because he bet into me on every street. The second ace doesn't scare him at all, so I think the A filled a boat. That's my rationale anyway.

Because hero raised twice in a row.

Does anyone but me dislike the turn raise? You raised the flop and he pulls a stop and go. I don't raise that turn unless he's LAG. I'd call the turn and river.Jeff
yeah i'd have to agree with this line. getting 3 bet on that turn sucks large.

Now we get to the meat of it. I'm not so worried about the river raise/call decision. I was less comfortable on the turn. So are you suggesting it's check/call ont he turn and river? I basically raised to see where I was at. With the smooth call and the lead into me on the river I got my answer.

So are you suggesting it's check/call ont he turn and river? I basically raised to see where I was at.WTF does that even mean? You're not folding to a three-bet are you? Or to being led into on the river?Where you are is either ahead or crushed. Raising here doesn't define his hand any unless he three-bets.

So are you saying the raise is wrong, or just the reason for it?I'll take as much criticism and feedback on this hand as I can get. I never got any visibility until he bet into me on the river at that point I was pretty sure I was beat. I think the flop raise was good. I think I'm likely ahead and need to bet aggressively. I expected either a 3-bet, or a call followed by a check on the turn. The bet on the turn leaves me unsure what to do.

Okay, so the line is call down from the turn. I get 4:1 to call two more big bets, and I should be good here 20% of the time. Raise is a waste because I'm calling the 3-bet here anyway so I lose 1 or 2 extra BB when I'm behind, and gain only 1 (or maybe none) when I'm ahead. I have to be ahead most of the time for this to make sense. Even knowing if I'm ahead or behind doesn't really help me. Have I got it?
