misreads suck! flopped boat + wheel draw (o8)

$5/$10 omaha hi/lo, ten-handedi'm SB with 5 4 4 2 .two limpers, i complete, BB checks.(4 SB) A A 4 i bet, BB cold-calls, limper just calls.(8 BB) 3 i bet, BB cold-calls again, limper flat-calls again.(14 BB) 10 i bet, limper cold-calls, i call.does this hand look good?now replace the 2 in my hand with the 3 . WOW, i freaking donked it up!!!argh.(but i honestly am interested in whether i played the hand correctly given what i read my hand as... was i overaggressive on any part of the hand? specifically, i'm wondering if the river three-bet was good.)aseem

It sure does suck when you misread your hand (although it doesn't happen as much online as it does in live play).I would have played it the exact samae way, due to the number of people in the pot. If it was heads-up, totally different story, same with if there was more players in.

can you elaborate about the number of people in the pot and why specifically three players makes my play okay?aseem

I am trying to remember my train of thought when I typed in my first comments (didn't have a coffee in me yet):On the flop, you got an underfull, plus a really good low draw. If there were more people in the pot, I would have tried for a check-raise there, as opposed to betting out. Same goes if it was heads-up. If it gets checked around (for both scenario's) so be it. On the turn, you hit your nut low, to go with your underfull. If more than 3 players, I (if I didn't on the flop) would have gone for the check-raise there, as you know at least one person is going to bet there. If heads-up, definately bet out IMO.On the river, the flush card hit, which makes me think that BB had a low and a backdoor flush possible (eevn though the board already has a pair). Regardless of the number of players in there, I would have bet/raised/capped it. 8) Can't say for sure if that makes any sense or not, as I really cannot recall my exact train of thought from this morning... :?

You really have to discount an underfull when two aces hit, though, especially with two other wheel cards on the board. Granted you have two of the fours, but I wouldn't push it. The wheel probably makes it all right to push the turn, because I'd say the chance of quartering to another 2-5 isn't a given. I'm not sure I like the river play 3-bet now that both of your opponents have raised.I'm interested to see how this turned out. My guess is the BB had a high hand with ATxx, the limper had a premium low, probably the wheel.
