OK I know I'm not posting interesting hands here, but I'm trying to get some help with playing hands that I raise preflop and completely miss on the flop. I feel I'm just completely screwing these hands up (whether I win or not)..25/.50 Limit Holdem10 playersHero has A :) K :D preflop3 folds, Hero raises, 2 folds, CO calls, Button folds, SB calls, BB foldsFlop J :club: 9 :) 3 :D SB checks, Hero bets, CO calls, SB foldsTurn 3 :D Hero bets, CO raises, Hero foldsSo how bad did I mess up the turn (both the bet and the fold)? I was betting thinking a straight/flush draw would call meaning that I was ahead. But then the other guy raised here putting me in a tough spot. I might be drawing dead so I went ahead and folded.

This is tricky, because you don't know if he's on a draw after his call on the flop or not. Obviously, if he's drawing, you are ahead with your AK high, but if he's not, you may be drawing dead ( if he has a 3 ). He could have J-9 which gives you outs since the three comes, but I would probably check / call this turn. If he's betting on the draw you get the same one bet you'd get if you bet anyways, but don't risk getting raised and having to fold. If he checks behind you, you KNOW he's on a draw.I don't mind continuing the bet on the flop, but on a board like that you are likley getting called or raised on the turn, not getting him to fold.my .02

Pot is small, so no need to get into a confrontation there without a specific read, especially since you are drawing thin against someone who has any piece of the board.
