Kendren 1
You could very well be beaten there with QQ. Betting pattern looks alot like QQ trying to define his hand, turn crap bet cause he's afraid of the straight, and blasat the nuts.preflop: fold this in H/L.flop: just call, you're behind alot, with some backdoor draws.turn: weak from both of you, but this is a sticking point in my game as well. I don't know.river: tough decision, but I think I call.all this could have been avoided by folding preflop.EDIT: Go ahead and use the omaha forum, now that DN has changed things, more people know it's there. Red-River Slim 0
yea i know it was a junk hand, but i was already in the big blind and it was just one more bet to me. in a ring game, w/the same cards, my cards would have been in the muck regardless of me being in the big blind.don't hands like this increase in value when short-handed tho? of course that 6 makes it complete trash regardless, but i was just hoping to hit a flop.it actually turned out that the guy had the nut str8 (10 J) on the flop, and the 9 on the river allowed me to scoop the pot.i realize this is another horrible suckout (not to mention a horrible re-raise and call on the flop on my part), but on the turn wasn't i pot commited to try and catch a 9 or queen?on the turn i had put him on the nut str8, but felt i was getting good implied odds to hit my boat on the river.what do you think?-RRS
Kendren 1
Sure it does increase in value shorthanded. But you've already killed 2 of your flush outs by having 4 in your hand, you've got a couple danglers, but I can see being speculative.Trying not to be results oriented, but he played this hand like utter shit with the nut straight. He picks when the board pairs to go hard? Moron.
Red-River Slim 0
first, my apologies for posting this in the wrong forum. im so used to posting in this forum that i often forget there are others :lol:second, yea i dont like being results oriented either. i know this was a crappy hand to even speculate with (especially preflop).on the flop, however, i wanted to see exactly where i was in the hand w/top 2 pair. i more than likely should have folded to the raise, but (un)fortunately decided to remain in the hand.if i were him, i would have bet the pot on 4th street. my thought on 4th street was that he was trying to sell me the mortal nuts but at too small a price. if exactly a 9 or a queen hit the river, i stood to scoop the pot, and probably win a bunch of chips in the process. so yes, i took a gamble calling the turn in an effort to try and hit a scooping hand, but i dont think he laid me the correct price to force a fold.i also took a gamble by checking to him on the river when i made my full house. i FIGURED he would bet it, but i didn't know how aggressive he'd be. i honestly didn't put him on a set of queens, so i felt my hand was very playable. you're probably correct that just a call was in order here, but i couldn't resist re-raising the river, because i honestly felt he either had a smaller full house, or played the nut str8 like a donk.-RRS
Kendren 1
Makes sense to me. You were there, you made the right read. Pot bet on turn, you're gone faster than Michael Jackson from a Boy Scout tent when the flashlight comes on.I have no problem with your turn play, other than it was a little weak, but so was your hand. nice pot
Rocketwadster 0
Easy call from BB pre-flop to that weak-azz raise. On the flop - this is a classic example of where I have trouble in PL games. You want to define your hand now, rather than later, but by potting it here you are building the pot. His re-raise tells you something, doesn't it? I may have just called here, to try to keep the pot smaller. On the turn, easy call to his stupid bet. On the river, I hate having the underfull (see my other posts on this subject), so would have just called to that bet (I am a poosey I guess). 8)
