I'm never sure how to play in these situations against reasonable opponents. I don't know much about this guy other than his PT stats (15/8/2, so tight and fairly aggressive), so I've got to imagine he's either got a big pair or another AK, having 3-bet from out of position preflop.Should I have called on the end to see if it's a split pot? Or do anything different on the flop or turn? Or not cap preflop? I like AK better when I'm the one on the attack; I'm not sure what it means when he led into me on the flop...Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed) converterPreflop: Hero is MP2 with [As], [Kh]. CO posts a blind of $2. 3 folds, CO folds, BB calls.Flop: (10.50 SB) [8s], [4d], [3d] (2 players)BB bets, Hero calls.Turn: (8.25 BB) [Td] (2 players)BB bets, Hero calls.River: (10.25 BB) [Qs] (2 players)BB bets, Hero folds.Final Pot: 11.25 BB
Then you go to da box for 2 minutes by yourself, you feel shame... then you get free.

fold somewhere. After raising the flop you can probably call and fold the turn UI.

I might consider folding to the flop re-raise here. You took your shot to see if he might just have overcards and he represented an overpair with the 3-bet. Most likely we're beaten, at best we have 6 outs against QQ, JJ, or maybe TT. We could also be up against AA or KK, in which case we're now drawing virtually dead. It's also possible, though unlikely that villain flopped a set, in which case we're drawing virtually dead. With no backdoor draws I'm hating AK after getting re-raised here. However, the pot odds may dictate taking one more card, but I'm almost certainly folding the turn here unimproved. I just don't like drawing to a maximum of six outs here against the opponents range of hands. Assuming he's TAG, what does he 3-bet with before the flop? Most likely AA-TT, AK, maybe AQ if he's feeling froggy, I also wouldn't completely eliminate 88, though it's unlikely if the guy is fairly tight. So, on the flop we're drawing live against pretty much everything but AA & KK, probably good enough pot odds to make the crying call. Now, on the turn we're drawing live against only QQ or JJ. If you can put him on just one of those two hands, you're getting the right odds to call, even though there are no implied odds because it's highly unlikely that he'll pay you off with one of those hands. On the other hand, if he has KK you're drawing to 3 outs and again he may not pay you off if you hit. If he has AA you're drawing dead and could lose much more if one of the two remaining Aces falls on the river. On balance I think I'd have to call the flop 3-bet even though I wouldn't like it, but it would probably be best to fold the turn if unimproved.

Simple and sensible. Why didn't I think of that?
