I have had the worst luck since I signed up with this site. AK beat by A8...I don't even want to go into all the second best hands and suckouts. Does anyone actually make money at this place. I can understand if my luck is just bad and the cards will turn the other way soon. But I made alot of money at pokerstars, and I just don't have the confidence to say the same about pp. Im rambling im so ****ing pissed right now.Anyone actually make money here??

When I was playing 1/2, I actually lost my 40 dollar buy-in 4 sessions in a row. Might have won 4 pots. I probably pissed some of that away, but not too much was frustration/tilt-loss. Just happens, man. Keep rocking, rolling, and objectively evaluating your play and you'll turn it around. But don't start making excuses for yourself. If you play better than everyone else, you'll win. Just make sure you're making the best play, playing your A game, all the time. Good luck, Ice

Well I play on Party, and yes, it's the most frustrating thing ever. I haven't gone on a streak that bad, mainly because I try to stop it before It gets too huge, I'll switch the game up, do something. BUT... something I have noticed after I got through about a week long bad run, is that I wasn't playing my game, because I was so frustrated. I started to play K9 and crap hands that I know I shouldn't play... but I didn't even realize it till I was cooled off and sat down and wrote out the starting hands I need to be playing. I went and wrote them out, said.. ok, this is it! Then realized I had been on like perma-tilt and never even knew it. Luckily my biggest downswing hasn't been more than $150 (from 400 or 250)... And tried to correct it. It works somewhat... but I tried SnG's for awhile and had success there... then won a big tournament... and figured the SnG's would be a breeze... tried a couple, and lost them all. lol! Don't know what happened.... only about 3 or 4 really. So I gave PL $25 a shot again... because a month or so ago I had lost a few buy-ins fairly quickly and thought maybe it wasn't my game.... Well I had about 3 sessions in a row where I was up... one losing session... and then yesterday and today left up 30 and 25 again. So now I'm rambling and probably not helping anymore.... I don't have much solution... but I found, even though the play still sucks in the PL or NL rooms... You can protect a hand better, and make them pay for trying to suck out. I won a $60 pot yesterday because someone re-raised me 20 something with KQ and an AJ on the board, looking for a 10.... Well I had AK and took his whole stack and someone elses who was all in pre-flop. Sometimes the dumb players will pay you off, and in those rooms it's worth it more.Blah blah, i'm done now.

I dunno about this one - on the turn you have second pair with a less than wonderful kicker. You are also first position. And you are quite possibly facing a limping hand with a J or 9.You might have tried to represent a set of 9s by trying a check raise on the turn, and maybe winning it there (maybe not at these limits...)And if all checked the turn then maybe you try something on the river, but perhaps the J should at least give you pause....But otherwise Smasharoo is right on, I think. I swear some of these players are blowing the people who run PP so they catch all these miracle cards. I had my problems with party poker at first. I never had the bank roll for the levels I was playing at. I have the hang of it now and the bank roll.. Number one rule is Bank Roll.. If you have a large enough bank roll... You know the standard 200 to 300 X the BB. You will do fine. I'm sure if your playing a .50/1 your bank roll is large enough so things should turn around for you with solid play..

i'm the first to say that poker online is poker online.... but party hasnt really been good to me. i was playing 50 NL, and got sucked out on really bad a few times for all ins. ive also had the same problems on the limit tables. I agree with one of the earlier posts that you go on "perma-tilt" once this happens a bit. I almost lacked confidence there. I quit playing party mainly though, because the blinds in the NL games are double the size i am accustomed to playing, so my pre flop strategy involves putting in raises that are too large (ex i want to raise 5x with AK, and it costs me 2x as much only to fold to some heavy play on the flop)

PartyPoker is full of fish. What you have to realize is that sometimes 4 fish are tougher to beat than 1 pro, because the 4 fish have 4 times as many cards to play against you (and draw out with). Of course this usually means you'll be getting tremendous odds no matter what. So just stick with it, play tight and straightforeward, and you'll be fine.

You can't be scared to play mediocre hands. You'll hit nice swings (and bad ones, of course), but sometimes you *almost* have to be in the right place at the right time.
