heads up tournament, need advices from expert

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, reallly need your help on heads up play tournament style, I would like some recommendation on how to play when ahed, when behind in chips, would like to know if you play a lot of heads up tournament and if so, what is the % winning rate you need to get to the next level... What is the approximate bankroll you need... What are the sites you recommend to play heads up (with worse player off course...)Have also some specific things to ask about some situations...I have 2350 and my opponent has only 650 left, blinds are 50-100, so he has to make a move soon... I'm on BB he push all in and I'm looking to KJ unsuited... Do you call? You have AK, first hand of the heads up and the other guy push all in preflop, what you do?you are approx. equal in chips (1500 each), the blinds are high like 60-120 and for sure there is a lot of blind stealing preflop... guy push all in and you are looking to a pp, With wich pp you call? any? My question was originnally for 10-10, but let's put it more general...Does J-Q suited deserve a big raise call (let,s say 3 or 4 times BB when Blinds are high enough to affect the stack and there are lot of blind stealing??)Assuming you start with 1500 each, what is the point to push all in no matter your hand in terms of BB?THANKS to every poeple who will take the time to answer my questions. Also, any good recommendations would be a pleasure...

I have 2350 and my opponent has only 650 left, blinds are 50-100, so he has to make a move soon... I'm on BB he push all in and I'm looking to KJ unsuited... Do you call?I Call - KJo is a strong hand heads-up. You have AK, first hand of the heads up and the other guy push all in preflop, what you do?I fold since it's the first hand, the blinds are small and I have no read - that's a moronic way to play aces or kings but if I call, I'm a bigger moron.you are approx. equal in chips (1500 each), the blinds are high like 60-120 and for sure there is a lot of blind stealing preflop... guy push all in and you are looking to a pp, With wich pp you call? any? My question was originnally for 10-10, but let's put it more general...How often is he pushing all-in? Does he do that all the time? If, for instance, this is the first time that he is pushing, then Q's. However, if he's been constantly stealing my blinds by pushing, then I would call with 8's or higher.Does J-Q suited deserve a big raise call (let,s say 3 or 4 times BB when Blinds are high enough to affect the stack and there are lot of blind stealing??)I'll raise QJs 2-3x BB in headsup and other times just limp with them.

A read can change this answer just a little bit, but I can't see laying down 77-JJ preflop in a heads up match with 1500 chips apiece and blinds at 60/120. The blinds are ~1/16th of the chips in play... it's tough to get away from all but the smallest of pairs preflop in this sutation, IMO.In response to the origial poster's question:I've played quite a few heads up matches on PokerStars. I like their structure and they have a reasonable rake. I didn't approach them as a way to make money right away--I wanted the ability to dominate when $1000+ is the difference between first and second in some huge multi-table tournament.

Serioously, it's a fasat way to make money when you are a real good player heads up.... I see guys nigth over nigth winning on fulltilt... they do approx 70%-75% winning and they play 2 heads up a time.... they do approx 4-6 heads up an hour... so lets say 10 each 2 hours... meaning approx 3.5-4 buy ins clear in their pocket each 2 hours or 2 buy in each hour. iy you play 10-20 buy in, that means 20-40 $ per hour.... and at higher stakes, seen guys doing approx 100$ per hour...so I think its a good way to make money when you dominate
