cscharfe 0
ok so i've played like three 5+1 party poker multi table tourneys (around 1500 - 2000 people) In all three tourneys i played in so far i do pretty well throughout the first hour and a bit. When the blinds hit 25-50 i usually have about 4000 in my stack while most poeple are from 800-2500. However in all three tournaments i seem to take a dramatic turn for the worse right at that point and almost always end up in 300-450'th place anyone have any suggestions? regarding my strategy i usually play pretty tight through the first bit of the tourney, then i figure when the blinds get signifigant i can use my tight image to pick up some blinds by raising the medium sized stacks when their in the blind. can anyone help me with my strategy? give me some advice? or offer me a new strategy to try? any help is appreciated....-thx

Nobody is going to tag you as tight. You will not be able to steal peoples blinds like that. If you play tight for the first hour, how do you end up double the average??? You must play tight-lucky. lol.Another mistake you are probably making is failing to pay attention to the short stacks. Be aware of when they are going to start the all-in torture. I believe this happens around the first hour mark. People start getting short-stacked who have not seen any cards yet. Play VERY VERY tight during this 'wave'. The wave should last about 20 minutes. You will realize when it's over, but continue to pay attention to short stacks. This will help you so much in these colossal tournaments.
