I agree with that. But you have to take into account that he cold called your raise preflop and didn't just raise but 3-bet the flop after a bet and a raise by the original raiser. Plus, we have two people tagging along. One who bet and one who probably wanted to check raise first but just called 3 cold on the flop.So I just shut down here and check call to the river unless improved (because the pot is big). though I will fold if it's 2 bet back to me. As a reserve, remember I'm a noob.

I think there is no question at this point you have to pay it off. If there is a one in 24 chance that you have the best hand (which there is) you should call. Do you have a read on the button? Is he in a lot of hands or is he super aggressive. The only way I fold here is if he is a rock. You might be up against a set.

Is capping the flop a viable play? I am not convinced that we are necessarily behind at any point in this hand. What about 3-betting the turn? :?

I might have checked called the turn, UTG seems like he has either a draw or a hand like AJ/AT, I think button either has 88 or A8Like I said, I woulda check/called turn since UTG checked in front of me, then call down, but I still dont think you can fold this

You're right about the button, 88. I think after getting 3-bet on the flop, check-calling the turn & river would be the best.
