at this point i am puttin him on a weak ace...so should i check or bet?Why would you bet if you are putting him on a better hand? He's not folding a weak ace, it depends on your read, he might be calling down with a jack here but your read is that he has a weak ace so check it down.

on the turn i picked up another 4 outs to the straight...so why not bet and try to scare him out....i hadnt been payin much attention to this particular table so i didnt have a great read on him....after the turn call it was basically all i could put him on...though he could have had the jack for all i knew

if your "read" is that he has a weak ace, then you shouldn't bet.i'm guessing, though, that your "read" is grossly inaccurate, and that value betting this river is correct much more often than not, especially if he's loose."value bet your marginal hands against loose players", etc., etc., etc... ur correct my read was wrong...but how would you have treated that hand assuming you were in the hand...i assume the flop bet is standard..what about the turn and river play?
