Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (9 handed) converterPreflop: Hero is SB with [Qc], [Jc]. 3 folds, Hero completes, BB checks.Flop: (3 SB) [Qh], [3d], [8s] (3 players)Hero bets, BB folds, MP2 calls.Turn: (2.50 BB) [Jh] (2 players)Hero bets, MP2 calls. At this point, I'm certain I'm ahead as any thinking opponent would raise a set or straight here, right?River: (4.50 BB) [5s] (2 players)Hero bets, MP2 calls.Since the only hand this card helped enough to win is 55, I 3-bet. Look ok?Final Pot: 10.50 BBResults below since they are pretty funny. Results in white below: Hero has Qc Jc (two pair, queens and jacks). MP2 has Td 9d (straight, queen high). Outcome: MP2 wins 10.50 BB.

What's funny? He caught a straight on the turn and flat called knowing you are going to call a river bet, or bet out again. If he raises that turn he probably only gets one more bet out of you on the river. He played it pretty nicely actually. Limped with suited connectors perfect flop call, slowplayed the turn when he has the nuts and got you to 3 bet him on the river. Why he didn't cap it I don't know..thank him for saving you a bet.

You answered your own question. I find it funny when people just call with the nuts. And really, I guess PS and Absolute are weird then, because I rarely see anyone slowplay the nuts on the turn. I bet if I posted this hand from my opponent's perspective, everyone would be saying to raise the turn. And if you notice, he called the flop with a gutshot in a tiny pot.. He played it horribly.

There are tons of players at .5/1.00 and 1/2 who love to make that call the turn, raise the river play. I think in the last week, it's happened to me about 25 or 30 times (unfortunately I was playing at a site, that I doesn't work with poker tracker so I can't find exact numbers). It sucks because chances are good you're beat, yet many times the pot's too big to fold for one bet.
