$2-2 NL on pokerroom.I come in to the cutoff spot and post $2.Dealt K K. 3 or 4 limpers, then the guy tomy immediate right raises to $8.I re-raise to $22, and the limpers all fold. The guy who raised now goes all in for an additional $150 or so. (I have the full $200)Is this an automatic call?edit--any thoughts on the re-raise to $22?

Yes. Unless you know this player so well that you are 95% sure that he has AA.

call.I put him on AK..and he wants to be sure to see every card...and he's putting you (hoping) on QQ or worse...or AQ or worse...is my guess.I really think he prefers you fold here..then again..he may know a lot of players call all-ins..and he's maximizing AA...gee lotta help I am.

if you've been playing at 200NL at this site long enough, you'll start to understand what the average/standard raise with AA is. for instance, at 25NL it seems to be around $2. is $8 standard for AA at this limit?i don't know how much i like such a big reraise. why not save a few bets? you'll learn the same thing with a min. raise, most likely: does he have it, or not?i've seen people push all in under these exact circumstances with relative garbage like 10-10, of course.

I did call, and he flipped over 8,8 and kings held up.(what's that all about??)I absolutely hate the idea of min raising, at any NL table. If I wanted that option, I would play limit. As for raising it to $30+, as Aseem liked, I see what you're looking to do, but in this particular case, even with KK, I was trying not to get too involved since I reallydidn't feel like losing an entire buy in on thefirst hand. (even though I did call the all in)I was basically just trying to eliminate the limpers, while keeping the single customer. I sure didn't expect him to hammer back like he did.Anyways, thanks for the opinions, to me it wasas close to automatic as it gets. If he's got AA, I'm afraid he's getting paid off here most times.

The number of players willing to push with AK, QQ, JJ or worse make it pretty difficult to release KK preflop. If some jerk from FCP goes all in with AA and you're unlucky enough to call him, you can be sure that despite all the insults (and profuse fist-pumping), he would have done the same. It's like a set over set situation.I've used the all in with AA move on party's $25NL before and had people tell me they folded KK. I really wonder if that's +EV in the long run.
