Converter isn't working for me. My question is two-fold. First, the board is very dangerous with a straight and flush very likely, but I have the redraw to the nut flush on the turn - I 4-bet here here because of this but is there a better course of action here. The BB checks to me when the river blanks (I consider the K a blank as it does not pair the board, make a straight more likely or put 4 to a flush on the board), I check here because of the cap on the turn. I do not think betting here has any value. Any opinions on that?$0.50/$1 Texas Hold'em - Thursday, August 04, 15:26:30 EDT 2005Table Table 13957 (Real Money)Total number of players : 10CO posts small blind [$0.25].BB posts big blind [$0.50].** Dealing down cards **Dealt to HERO [ As Ad ]CO calls [$0.50].HERO raises [$1].SB folds.BB calls [$0.50].CO calls [$0.50].** Dealing Flop ** [ 6d, 5c, 7d ]BB checks.CO checks.HERO bets [$0.50].BB calls [$0.50].CO calls [$0.50].** Dealing Turn ** [ 9d ]BB bets [$1].CO folds.HERO raises [$2].BB raises [$2].HERO raises [$2].BB calls [$1].** Dealing River ** [ Kc ]BB checks.HERO checks.

I don't raise the turn. Who cares if you have the nut flush draw. A 4th diamond on the end will surley kill your action. Try to get there cheep, as your are already behind.

I agree with DCSports on everything except the spelling of "cheap." Raising the turn with a 4-straight and 3-flush on the board heads up at the turn is no good. If you are banking on the nutflush to save you, you need5 callers to be able to cap with a 4-1 shot. You saw that the board was scary, good job. Don't cap a turn hoping to suckout on someone. It is obvious you think you're behind here because you didn't BET the river when your perceived blank fall. When I play LHE and I believe I am ahead on the turn (enough to cap it!) and a card I believe is a blank falls, I raise the river.

I thought the BB might perceive my raise from the button as a steal attempt here, and perhaps caught a piece of the flop or maybe had an overpair. I did not think I was behind on the turn until the BB called the cap bet. Either way, I see your point about trying to see the river card cheap here.

After that shenanigans on the turn? you bet im calling for one more bet. if only for information. But you really need to slow down on that turn. I don't necessarily MIND leading out if its checked to you, but it was bet to you. Call it and try to make your flush. you made the pot so big on teh turn you almost have to call on the end.Sorry for spelling CHEAP wrong :club:

So him 3-betting the turn didn't make you think perhaps 1 pair was no good on a very coordinated board?

In my experience at party 0.50/1 it's very player dependent on what a 3-bet means - in this case, I was in fact way ahead on the turn. The BB was betting bottom pair here.

you put in 4 BB on the turn with a scary board and a BB that woke up, with just a pair - albeit a great pair. However, you're cap caused him to slow down, fearing a flush (or higher flush), I'd presume.I'm not sure what the best action is.Really depends on BB prepensicty to bluff and the value he puts on certain hands. Hard to imagine you don't need to hit at least trips, to win.Maybe you have outs to Aces Up...as well.

Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.
