trips w/ a reasonable kicker

I recently played a hand where I was destined to lose a good chunk of change, and am wondering if there was any way I could've gotten away cheaper.It was at a .50/1 blind full ring NL Hold 'Em game on Bugsys Club. I think I had around $140 in chips, and was middle of the road as far as stacks were concerned. I was in mid/late postion w/ Q J and 3 limpers before me. I called, and everyone behind me passed, so I had position on the table. The flop came down 3 Q Q . Action was checked to me so I made a pot-sized bet and got one caller. The turn was a complete blank as there were no flush or straight possibilities. Here my opponent led with a bet about half the size of the pot. I raised approx 2.5 times his bet and he called. At this point I was sure he had a Queen, but I was just as sure he would make this play with any Queen (thinking his trips were good). As I said this was a limped pot, so I didn't think he could have AQ, so the only hand I was really worried about was KQ, and I figured my trips w/ a Jack kicker were pretty good. The river was an A and my opponent checked. The pot was pretty big by this point and I really thought about moving in for about $100 that I had left. I still thought my hand may be good, but I was also worried that I may have been beat from the beginning. A case could be made for trying to represent AQ, but as I said it was a limped pot and I don't think he would have given me credit for it. I instead decided to check behind him, thinking I'd rather win a nice pot then get broke with a good but beatable hand.My opponent turned over KQ and took a nice pot off me. I was upset that I lost a good chunk of change on this hand, but I was also glad that I didn't get broke. I'm just looking for opinions if I lost too much, or if I should be happy I still had chips left at the end of the hand?

He wasnt folding the river anyways, you saved yourself $$. Doesnt sound like there was much you could do given the action

I don't like the turn raise. He's not laying down KQ and there aren't any obvious draws. If you have him beat, give him a chance to fire a bullet on the river. If you're beat, lose the minimum.
