I thought it would be a nice change to switch the topic from poker to football. In the AFC i believe its pretty much a gimme that the Patriots will come out victorious. Sure pitt beat them earlier in the season but that was without Corey Dillon who is just exceeding everyones expectations. Roethlisberger has had a great season, but seriously the Jets should have won that game by at least 2 touchdowns. I dont expect the Steelers to get much out of the running game with Bettis and Staley, those NE linebackers are just too good. Teddy Bruschi is one of the most underrated linebackers in the game. Final score Pats 21 Steelers 10Now the NFC is a really big coin toss. I'm talking AK suited vs 22. The falcons are coming into this game with almost no pressure on their shoulders. They aren't the team that has made it to the NFC championship game 3 years in a row and lose all 3 times. Michael Vick is the #1 playmaker in the NFL, but then again you cannot bet against Donovan Mcnabb. He isn't Vick, but he can roll out of the pocket and run for some serious yardage as well. Yes the Falcons beat the Rams by a hefty margin but most of that came off the running game and special teams, categories that the Rams were near the bottom of the league. Even without Terrell Owens the Eagles have a lot better wide receivers with Freddy Mitchell Chad Lewis and L.J. Smith. So I would say that the Eagles will win this game in a close one with a david akers kick at the last second. Eagles 13 Falcons 10Upsets may happen but whoever wins the championship games, it will definitely result in a very exciting and competitive super bowl

I know much more about the NFC than the AFC, but I agree with your pick of the Pats. I am gonna be rooting for the Steelers, but it is hard to go against the Pats, they are pretty complete and have been here before and done it, kinda a hard spot for a rookie QB.As for the NFC game, I am gonna go with the Falcons. As was said, they have almost no pressure, and are going into the game with such a weapon in Vick. Granted, the Eagles are very good, defensively and offensively, but they are without T.O., and the Viks aren't really a good test, they were 8-8 for a reason.... also... I can't stand Eagle's fans (sorry to those that are here) and the stories coming from there... not cool. So I guess I just want to see em lose the championship game again. It would make this sad Packer fan smile.

The Buffalo Bills choked in the Super Bowl four straight...and they were a much better team than the Eagles.

no respect for the steelers huh...we'll see how it turns out. Everyone talks about how the steelers only won the Oct. 31st game because of the patriots missing corey dillon. Well if history is any indication dillon doesn't play well vs. the steelers in his career and the steelers have shut down pretty much every big time back they've faced this year. Roethlisburger may have been shaky last game but the steelers don't rely on him to win. If they have to they may be in trouble but I don't see the pats running all over the steelers like they did the pats. This game is gonna come down to the final minutes and I'm from pittsburgh so I can't pick against my steelers. Steelers 27 Patriots 20

I think they close the deal this time though and get beaten badle inthe Superbowl by whoever comes out of the AFC.Being a life long Patriots fan, I'm happy even if they lose. It's been a great couple of years to be a Boston sports fan, can't complain too much.

For the NFC game everyone seems to be jumping on the Vick bandwagon even though they made the same mistake with Manning and co. The Falcons are a dome team playing in Philly and that doesn't serve em well. Vick will be slowed by this but he will still be the fastest guy on the field. Vick will be able to make a couple plays but its going to be a lot harder when you're facing the Philly D compared to the St L. "D".Philly 26 Atlanta 17

T.O. is trying to say he might play sunday now. Even if he does I think the Eagles will squeak out a close win. But it really does matter who wins the NFC because the Pats are gonna crush them.I'd be funny to see Philly lose 4 straight. Also what's up with Freddy Mitchell? At first I thought he was just kidding around at the post game interview, but then when I saw him on PTI the other night I started thinking this guy has serious ego problems.

Steeler/Eagles for me.I can't believe so many people are writing off the Steelers already. So they didn't look great against the Jets but they did get the result and that is the mark of a championship team - being able to grind out results even when you are not at your best. They always seem to find that little bit extra when they need to and I predict another overtime win this week.
If it wasn't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all.

If they play that way agains the Patriots they'll loose by 20.If they play a close game and it comes down to a feild goal to win it, they'll lose. The Patriots aren't the Jets.

Nice to see another Packer fan on here....however, ESPN talked the Packers up pre-playoffs saying they were a "major super bowl contender" from the NFC, the comment made me smile, however, I did not see any truth in it. The Packers defense has just not bein doin their jobs all year, and playing Minnesota for the 3rd time (both previous wins by a mear field goal), we all knew the Vikings were out for blood.I think the majority of football fans agree the super bowl champs have AFC written all over it, I agree with the comments made about the Pats, however, I would hate to see the win yet another one.I too, have the Falcons over the Eagles, and it would be funny to see Philly lose the NFC championship for the 4th straight year.My Prediction:Falcons vs SteelersSteelers winI know Big Ben is a rookie, but with the Steelers #1 defense, and them not wanting to waste an almost perfect season (minus game #1), it's hard for me to count them out quite yet. I would not be shocked if the Pats won, I personally just don't want to see a 3-peat.Peace

they are they best team in the league this season only losing 1 game which was there first, the jets gave them the most troubl in the regular season and i agree they didnt deserve to win last week, but they have one of if not the best runnning attacks in the game, and the number 1 defense in teh game, mind you the number one rushing defense, id be very surpirsed if corey dillion even comes close to 100 yards. but i guess we will see

Even if Dillon doesn't get 100 yards. The Pats still own the Steelers. They will 3peat next year too. I think the real questions left are questions like... who will the Superbowl MVP Brady, Dillon, or will it be someone on D? I also wonder how many touchdowns Mike Vrabel will score.

My picks are Steelers/Falcons, with the Steelers probably winning fairly easily.I think that the Steelers/Pats game is just going to be incredibly close, and I wouldn't be surprised or shocked if NE won it, by as much as 7. However, I think that the Steelers at home will be just a little too much. They are both great teams so it will be one heck of a battle that I'm very much looking forward to watching. The key will be how Big Ben performs I think. If he comes out like he did against the Jets, they are done. If he plays like he has most of the year, just guiding the offense and not trying to step outside that too much, I believe they will win. Frankly, if this game was in NE, I'd probably be picking the Pats by a slight edge instead of the Steelers. I just think these two teams are that close so that the homefield advantage really means a lot.As for picking the Falcons, I've got two reasons for that. The first is Vick. There is absolutely no one who can come out and just take things over like he can, and I think he will. He sometimes doesn't get enough credit for that playoff victory in Green Bay a couple of years ago when Lambough (spelling?) Field was still a very formidable place to play and the Packers just didn't lose there like they do now. My other reason is that I just don't like the Eagles and I always like to root against them. They are a pretty good team, but I don't think they can get over the hump without TO. Last week they were never in any danger of losing the game, but once they got up by a couple of touchdowns they could never seem to close it out. The Vikings were making mistakes left and right, but it felt like they still had a shot to score and make it a one score game until the very end. The Eagles can talk all they want about how losing TO hasn't hurt their mental approach to the game, how he has taught them what they needed to learn, but I think its bs and that they will lose yet again.

Timmy D, You are wiser than I give you credit for. The last few years have been such a rush after suffering through the Hugh Millen era. dEv,The only thing the Steelers have going for them in this game is home field and the yellow towels, but I'm still thinking they should bring some white ones just in case. Dillon's past stats against Pittsburgh are a poor indicator; his first season with a contender is a powerful motivator.

Pats are going to win, and im not saying that cause im from Boston, theyre a better team, forget the regular season game. Corey dillion will run for over 100 yards. The big factor in this game is Bill Bellicheck. He is the best coach in the NFL hands down. The defenses for both teams are 1-2 repectively. However bellicheck will have a better game plan and the pats offense is better. As for the nfc, how the falcons finished 12-4 i dont know, vic is a great runner, but somehwere in there you gota be able to throw in the playoffs. somenoe will stop him, bellicheck will make him look stupid if they make the bowl. The only thing about the posts from earlier that bothered me was the score predictions. 17-10, philly vs atlatna? you kidding me? the over under will probably be 51, and im throwing 100 bucks on the over in that one! high scoring game.
