Sup everyone. This hand occured at an online tourny that paid the top 5. Im chip leader with about 8,500 in chips and 2nd has got about 7,000. Short stack has about 4,000. Blinds were at 150/300. Im first to act and get dealt AQo. So i raise to 1,000. Next to act is the 2nd largest stack who goes all-in. Everyone folds back to me.Now I've got a decision to make.1.) Call- If i call and lose then i will be down to about 1,500 in chips and will probably be knocked out soon after, just out of the money. However, if i win then i will be in a dominant lead over the other players.2.) Fold- If I fold then i would be down to 7,500 (i would be 2nd in chips). To me, this seemed like the best move and so i folded. Now i've read alot of posts concerning hands (this is the 1st post i've written) and many people ask questions like "well what was your goal? to make the money or win the tourny?" I really don't know how to answer that. Both i guess. But i didn't want to put myself at risk that close to the money, so thats why i folded.Would you have done the same?Any opinions would be appreciated.
would you have folded?

Some people fold AQos under the gun, especially as chip leader. When you are the chip leader people will be looking to double up off you. You probably made the right move given your initial play, but I would have thought twice about raising. I know some people will disagree, but I think even just calling the BB would have been the right move even in the earlies. You lose a little, and for a tiny percentage of your stack you get to see how everyone else reacts.

Course you'd fold. It's not close at all.

No question, this is a fold hands down. You don't want to risk your chip stack at this point in the tournament versus another larger stack. If you are facing someone with a small amount then it might be justified to call, but this particular instance is definitely a folder.
