I find that I do much better in full ring games than I do at 6-max tables, and I think the reason is that my postflop blind play is not very good in heads-up situations, when I'm defending against a steal or when I get called or raised when I'm trying to steal. So I thought I'd post some hands where I was unsure of how to play postflop. Advice greatly appreciated. I wasn't familiar with villain, but through about 20 hands at this point his VPIP was about 20%.Look okay? Or should I take the free card?Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed) converterPreflop: Hero is BB with [Tc], [8c]. 8 folds, Hero calls.Flop: (4 SB) [7h], [6d], [4s] (2 players)SB bets, SB calls.Turn: (4 BB) [Kd] (2 players)SB checks, Hero bets, planning to fold to a raise...Final Pot: 7 BB

Then you go to da box for 2 minutes by yourself, you feel shame... then you get free.

I say take the free card and fold if you miss. But if that K didn't help him he might fold here too. Unless he's c/r with a strong K. Free card is probably the better play though with that high card coming off, then you're more than likely getting an extra bet on the river if you hit.

Not a 4 outer though. You have 8 outs to the straight. You have a double gutshot. Plus 6 more to a pair that could possibly win.

If you bet the turn, don't fold to a raise. You have enough outs to continue. That being said, I think you have about 11 outs. Your chance of winning a showdown is about 24% or 3:1. If you think your opponent will fold to a turn bet more than 25% of the time, bet. If not, check.Actually, he has to fold more than 25% of the time because you may get check raised. FWIW, I'm checking here. The king on the turn increases the chances you will be called/check raised. If I catch a pair on the river I'm either calling a bet, or betting if checked to. If I hit my straight, I'm betting/raising.

I bet/call the turn with no shame whatsoever.Of course, nothing puts a smile on my face quite like betting a scare card that I'm way scared of, and watching him fold. But the equity, the scary card, + your outs is enough reason to bet/call the turn, I think.
Always bet like you've got a pair.
