Playing a 5$ sit/go on partypoker- (maybe that explains it)about the 3rd or 4th hand of the tourny I'm dealt 2 :) 2 :club: , blinds are still 25/50 so I call in middle position. A player two behind me raises to 100, suddenly I get this premonition that she has a small pocket pair, and that I can outplay her off a small pair right? I call, and it goes to the flop heads up:10 :D 9 :) 9 :club: Hmm, I'm still fully comitted to outplaying her, as something tells me she is weak. I bet 50, she makes it 100, I instantly raise to 500! She calls this raise quickly, giving me some worry.turn comes 10 :club: putting 10's and 9's on the board, I push it all into her without hesitation, and she calls just as quickly, just as I get a sinking feeling in my stomach her hand is turned over to be 4 :club: 4 :club: I'm stunned but happy that it's going to be a split pot... until the river comes 3 :D and she win's with 10's and 9's with a 4 kicker. Nothing can fully explain the feeling of utter horror and anger inside me as I saw a 3 come on the end. my thought process went like" oh sweet it's going to be a split pot unless a *SPIKE*I I smashed my keyboard in pure rage as I saw the 3000$ pot go to her, after she called my all-in with 4 high. Not really a bad beat story, but it did make me smash my keyboard to pieces, but it was either the most amazing read I've ever seen or the dumbest call I've ever seen.

yea it actually isn't a bad beat story per se - it's just the fact that she risked all her chips with 4 high on a double paired board... and it was good.. to take me out... How can anyone make that kind of call - she had to have put me on 2-3, 3-3, 2-2, or 2-4/3-4 for the split.

Apparently she identified you as a player looking to outplay her.You outplay bad players by betting into them with the nuts, not bluffing them.

I disagree... she didn't put you on anything. This is a $5 SnG, people generally don't think about what others are holding. All she knew was she had a PP, and on TV, they go all in with those. QED.

I believe based on the fact that it was a $5 tournament, her thought process went something like this..."I have two cards that are the same number, that's good."
I'm not a professional poker player, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

weak players always look to make some great call, not being able to let go of a hand where they might get bluffed.
