beating a loose game with callers

Recommended Posts

First of all let me say that I am new to the Poker Forum...so hello everyone. Now let me explain my situation...I play in a home game every week...no limit hold em tourny style..winner take all...The players I play with are very bad players who like to call down any bet thrown out there...I cleaned the floor with them every week for the first 2 or 3 months we played...it wasnt even close...but since then I have hit this wall with the cards...they run terrible for me...no wins in like 3 months...not even close...They seem to draw out on me constantly and if I get good cards, say QQ, I will push hard with them and what do you know someone is holding AA or KK...always!I play a very tight but aggressive style of play and I have been searching for the answer to get my winning back...I have tightened up even more...only playing top ten hands...I have shown a bluff here or there hoping to mess with them...I have loosened up and played crazy...nothing seems to work...Any ideas out there? Should I play tighter or call along and see most flops...???I am starting to question myself and if I should give up the game all together...maybe I am not meant to play it...or then again...maybe I just suck. Thanks for your advice, - M

I know exactly what its like.Last night i played in a home game. Game: NL HEPayout Structure: 2nd get buy-in back, winner takes the rest.Players: Loose/Passive.I played 5 hands in 2 hours (I'm not sh*tting you). I won every hand and doubled up on 2 of them. It was the most boring game i've ever played, but after those 2 hours I was chip leader with 3 people left and I ended up winning the tourny. I have consistently won for about 3 months now.Heres what you have to do--1.) Raise with AA, AK, KK, QQ, JJ, or AQ2.) call with AJ, KQ, KJ, TT, 99, 88, 77, 66, 55, 44, 33, 223.) everything else, FOLD. Thats right, no Ax or suited connectors.4.) for small pairs (TT-22) follow this rule: No Set No Bet.5.) NEVER bluff. You may have to sit there for an hour before you actually have a premium hand, but thats what its gonna take if you want to win. Thats why i hate playing with weak players, its soo boring. Last thing, only go all-in preflop with AA, AK, KK, QQ, JJ, or AQ.
