Last night in a homegame tourney we were having I had my worst beat ever... Ok I got pocket aces and the flop was Ace, 10, Jack.So i'm thinking good position I'll raise with half my chips to scare away draws. Then my friend with a small stack goes all in and I match him, so now I only have a dollar in chips left so I might as well be all in.He turns over Pocket Jacks and I turn over Pocket aces. He has 3 jacks and I have 3 aces and I"m feeling great. The turn is an 8, and then the river...Its another Jack giving him 4 of a kind and me a Aces fullhouse.I felt so sick to my stomach.Later for my last dollar I go all in with a Ace high flush draw and I get it and some other kid calls just because he wanted to go home. I get my flush and on the river he gets a full house... we had to tell him that he got it because he didnt even know. That wrapped up the night.... what a downer.

You made the right play according to what he had and he just happened to get lucky... did you take into consideration that if someone had K-Q you would be beaten by a Straight on the Flop but win on the River? Just lettin ya know you did the right thing but dont go crazy with the rockets! :D

Ugh.. Just to pour a little more salt into your wound, if you were playing at the Palace Station in Vegas you would have qualified for the bad beat jackpot (aces full of tens or better beaten.) and won about 20 thousand dollars... :D I just missed it myself last night (though I won the hand with 4aces) when another player missed his card for a straight flush. While I still would have won the hand even if he made his sf... the Bad Beat jackpot breaks down like this.. Loser gets 20K, Winner gets 10K and everyone else in the room gets a few hundred bucks when it happens...

Damn...When I turn 21 and get to Vegas I'm going there. Haha.Yeah I also saw that KingQueen possibility, but with the trip aces on the flop, I just had to go for the gusto. I''d do it again too. :)

No, a straight flush beats 4-of-a-kind.

:D I was raised by someone in a early position I had pocket kings I reraised he called. The Flop came K,J,7 I raised he called again then a seven came off giving me a kings full over sevens. I raised it up again and got a call. Next on the river a Jack comes off now I have a better full. He moves all in on me I instantly call then I show my full and he turns up pocket jacks. The pain shot right up me... I proceeded to lose the little bit of chips I had left.Does anyone think any top pro would have folded that hand?

My worst one...Well...it's not really a bad beat, as he had AA and I had 77. This was a $3/$6 limit game on-line. He was in early position and I was on the button. He limped (first into the pot) there was one other limper before it got to me. 2 people in, pocket sevens, I also limped, and both blinds called/checked. The flop came A-7-7. I flopped quads for the first time in my life!Limper bet, call, I raised, both blinds folded, limper re-raises, other limper folds, I cap it. Turn is a 4. He bets, I raise, he re-raises, I cap.River..the case ace. He bets, I raise, he re-raises, I just call and lose a HUGE pot.

I don't think a pro would ever fold this hand. You just got screwed.

Well that's poker. There is some luck involved, which is what keeps suckers coming back for more. In the end, they will lose more even if they are lucky on some circumstances. (Not calling your friend a sucker, but you get my point.)
