sklansky book questions

i've read TOP, SSHE, SS1+2, LLHE, and am delving into holdem for advanced. is getting hold em poker by sklansky worthwhile or are most of the concepts there covered in TOP, SSHE, and LLHE. I need to re-read all of these books anyway now that i have become profitable and need to analyze my play against the books now i have some serious hands under my belt. are the two Harrington books very different? as in should i buy both or just one or the other. also, how is sklansky's tournament play for advanced players. thanks for any advice.

You need all three of those books for tournament play. If you were to pick 3 tournament books right now I'd tell you to pick those 3. They are all must reads, especially Harrington's latest one.

Harringtons books are written in a different style. They are much better organized than Sklanky's books. You should read them as they are full of good info not found in other two plus two books geared towards limit hold em.

how is sklansky's tournament play for advanced players.

I haven't read this book. I am interested to hear how it compares to Harrington's book, and what ideas are presented in it.

All of the concepts in Hold'em Poker by Sklansky are covered in the other books you mentioned-- just presented a little different. This is the only one I've regreted buying.

Harringtons Books are great.. i like them better than the sklanksy books i have(SSHE,TOP)

Hold'em for Advanced players is a great book. It covers a lot of topics in depth that other books glance over (loose/tight games, short-handed), and there's a lot of material and analysis I haven't seen anywhere else. I guess you don't NEED it, because the other books cover the fundamentals so well, but it definitely will help your game and the way you think about the game.

I don't think op was asking about Hold'em for Advanced players. He said he was already "delving" into that. I think he was asking about Hold'em Poker by Sklanksy.

thanks for the advice all, i think i will just reread TOP and the rest a couple more times. i really dont think you can read most of these enough times. i seem to pick up something small out of them every time i pick one up.
