Catamo 0
I was playing a game of Limit-Omaha on Absolute poker, Im really new to the game so im not that great at it.Anyway, i get given a hand of 8-8-J-9 and limp on the small blind. The flop came 8-X-Q, so i flopped a set, not bad... There were Four people in the hand... I raised, then someone re-raised, i called. The turn gave me a J, making a straight, and a flush useless. So, i bet out, got re-raised, and re-raised again. The river was a blank...Then at the end it said someone else won the hand, with 3 of a kind Queens... how?
custom36 5
Go back to the lobby for this section. Below your post are two posts by Akishore. They will teach you everything you need to know (which is everything) about Omaha H/L. I realize you were playing Hi, but for the basics (Part 1), most of the same concepts apply.Don't play a game you don't understand for real money. It's - - - -EV
mk 11
Your opponent had a better full house than yours, not 3 of a kind. His hand played QQQJJ, yours 888JJ.
Herr Mensch 0
By all means, read Akishore's Omaha guide, it's marvelous. But to answer the question that you asked, your J in hand did not play. Alwasy remember in Omaha and O-8 that two and only two cards from your hand play. You had three 8s with probably Q-J kicking it.Now Go. GO! click as fast as you can and read Aseem's guide.Mensch
Kendren 1
Your opponent had a better full house than yours, not 3 of a kind. His hand played QQQJJ, yours 888JJ.No, he didn't have a full house, there was no board pair. I think that's your problem here, you thought you had a full house. Remember you must use 2, AND ONLY 2, cards from your hand and 3 from the board. You used your 88 to give yourself a set. You can't use your 88, and your J, to give you a full house.EDIT: Dang mencsh beat me to it, what an udermensch

e3monroe 0
when the jack hit on the turn u didnt make a full house, your hand was still only bottom set with the 8s. In omaha u can only play 2 cards in your hand and u have to play 2 cards in your hand. ps. this is my first post so please regulars dont butcher me if i sound like an idiot or state something obvious
