Okay feel free to flame away if you want to but i need some help.this is kinda long but I fif use paragraphs.I play alot in the Stars MTT's they have every night of the 2 and 3 dollar buy in's, and usually then ten dollar one to.I finish in the cash in a fair amount of them, usually about 35-40 percent of em.I mean it's not that hard to do,win a couple of big pots early and play pretty tight until the money. And if you patient you are usually playing hand for hand before you know it.But anyhow, I need some help making the final table. The highest i've ever finished in one of those is like 18th i think. These things usually get 1000 people in them so i was happy with 18th.Is there anything i can do in changing up my game late in the tournament to make the final table.I mean if i play like i talked about earlier I usually make the money but by that time the blings are to big for my stack and it's either all in or nothing.I was just wondering if any of you could offer me some advice in the late stages of the MTT's to help me go from just making the money to actually getting to a final table. Thanks in advance.
need advice for mtt's

simply put, you're playing to cash and not playing to win. that's bad.when you get to that stage right before the money, loosen way the hell up and steal pots. everyone's trying to eek into the money, and they'll be happy to give you their blinds 2-3 times a round. just don't be afraid to fold to a reraise. i'm willing to bet that this is your biggest leak in tournaments...

I don't want to seem like I'm dodging the question, but you need to go pick up two specific books. Go read Harrington on Hold'em I and II. My tournament play has improved beyond belief just by reading these two books.Trust me, they're worth the investment and the time. Absolutely amazing books on tournament play. The second part of the series is probably more of what you're looking for (the "end-game"), but I highly recommend you read both books.

Especially around the bubble, play very aggressive and raise a lot of pots. At those stakes, the resteal play is likely not in their arsenal. If you get reraised, then fold. However, you can easily double your stack around the bubble just by stealing blinds. Once in the money, steal only with good position, as people will play much more loosely. You have to learn to fold to a reraise to avoid donking off most of your chips.
