old Actuary plays this..new Actuary..smarter...??good laydown?Fairly new to table...but they seem to respect raises, and not to laggish...Party $25 NLBB = 0.25I'm BB, I have $9.. PrtyPSux yes..u can lose less when going all in!And make others more likely to call you...think yuo are desperate.I'm only playing certain hands, and I don't need chips for power or muanuevering..when I move in I want to be called

Buy in for the full 25. People will call your all in with anything, period, no matter how much. 25 NL is a great thing.

First you really should learn the strategy, it will make much more sense if you read it. There has been quite a few discussions in the strat section here. Also the "short stack" is 20bb-ish. So you should take $10 to the $50 max buy in.

Ax suited is not really a hand you want to play shortstacked, you're playing it to hit a monster draw/ flush on the flop, which means you want to have a deep stack so when you hit it you get paid (implied odds). If you have no chips behind you you're not getting paid when you hit it.

I'm not sure how you could lay down QQ here, although it ended up being the correct play. If I was in your position(shortstacked, other players PC) I would've pushed all my chips in pre-flop. Hard to figure you're up against either KK or AA.

I thought it was easy to figure..ep raise to $2, next player calls...then re-raised to $4...at a 0.25 BB tableor at least quite likely.Woulda been a big win though.

my experience with the $25(.25BB) is that people will raise that much and go all in with much worse, that's just my experience here. I see it all the time, with any PP, AK, AQ, AJ, A10, even AX. Regardless you made the correct play. Good laydown.

In my SS NLHE experience, pre-flop decent raise + decent re-raise = AA or KK. This assumes that you're not playing tricky opponents or complete donks.Good laydown, Actuary. I've folded queens a number of times pre-flop. Once every month or so, I'd say. Haven't been able get away from kings though.

I wouldn't be too worried about not letting go of KK in a cash game preflop.If he has AA he has em'.If I have KK, and there is a lot of action...I'll just go ahead and say 100% of the time my money is in there with him. AA or not.- Jordan

i think it's just as easy for the initial bettor to have AJ and the raiser to have 77. from my experience i have learned that at low limits a min raise pf means i have a pair and should bet it, oh look! a good hand i want everyone to call, and im too lazy to slide that bar so i'll just hit raise. with qq in this spot i think you have to push.

Put the $25 on the line so you can play the way you're supposed to. Trying to grind out money at $5 sit and gos on party is not worthwhile because the rake is $1. Never, ever accept a 20% tournament entry fee.The only way I can get away from queens with a perfect board against someone with AA or KK is to raise enough preflop if there's been some betting action. If they slow play their big pair, more power to them.Too many people play a short stack in those cash games like a tournament scenario. You're giving up too much by not buying in for the max to take advantage of the money that's flying around.
