Is there anyone in my area that plays regularly? If so where? I go up to LaCenter for the most part or if I go visit my parents up in Puyallup (by Tacoma) I'll play up there.I have heard that "WallBangers" downtown has a card room, any truth to that? Do you go to Spirit Mountain? How are the games up there?

I live in Portland, and play at both Spirit Mtn and La Center. I also travel throughout the NW for my real job, and play at casinos in WA, ID, and Montana. Good action in La Center, more bad players there, but the card room is wicked smokey. Nice room at Spirit mt. Never played at Wallbangers.

I'm on the sunny side of the Cascades (Maupin area) I've played a bit of 3/6 at Chinook Winds & Spirit Mtn. is next on my list. Some guys playing at Chinook said good things about Spirit Mtn.I'm about a 1/2hr from Kahneeta too, website says they have some poker action? Going to have to go & see for myself though, its small compared to those other 2 & no event calendar online.Don't know about Wallbangers? been years since I hit the clubs in puddletown! 8)

I have played at Spirit mountain 3 times, 2/4 and 3/6, and I really liked it. The atmosphere was pretty good and the people working were really nice and helpfull. There seemed to be a quite a few bad players the two times I was there on the weekend and I did really well. The other time I was there was during the week and there were more good players. I got awesome cards though, so i did well again. Overall I was really happy with it, and wish I lived a little closer.

Where in Portland are you? I have heard, and had it confirmed from different sources, that Prime Time bar in Cornelious (out past Hillsboro) has a 50 buy in tournament every two weeks (rotates with a bar out in banks or something), and from what I've heard they deal a low max/min buyin no limit game. If anyone has more info on this I'd love to hear it, or anyplace else in town.

I live in SE, kind of by 205 and 84 where they meet. How about you?I have never heard of that place in Cornelius, but probably b/c I am on the opposite side of town as that. How far is Spirit Mnt for PDX, I heard it is about 1.5 hours? They spread 2/4 there eh? May have to make the drive over. I know they have 7 card stud on Tuesdays or Thursdays. I think it is 2/4 or 3/6

Wow, seems as if I've run into a few portlanders online lately. Ran into one that lives 3 blocks away at pokerroom. I live one block away from PSU campus. I've only been to la centre once. Made $200 on one of the holdem tables. I was really catching cards though, so can't really say it was becuase of weak competition. The links below supposedly list games in/around portland. Other than just a quick look through, I've not really looked into it. Seems like it has useful info though. Erikhttp://poker.meetup.com/127/about/http://pdx-poker.tripod.com/

Hi guys,I'm in Portland, too - wouldn't mind donating to the game a little. I'll watch this thread for replies - though keep in mind, I'd much rather donate playing Omaha. Otherwise, I'll be in and out lickity split with Holdem.
Thank you all for helping make fullcontactpoker a success.

On Saturday night I played in a tournament set up through meetup.com. Fairly decently run game, there were a few times where arguments over rules came up and no one really took control, but other than that. Apparently there's a place in a warehouse in NE somewhere that has almost nightly tournaments, but apparently they take some off the top (obviously illegal), and from what I've heard it's a LOT off the top, so they better watch themselves. One too many bad beats and a guy decides to report them. With poker being as hot as it is, I would think someone would want to make an example of somebody as to what you CAN'T do legally. Anyway, back to what I was saying, looks like you can find regular tournaments/cash games through meetup.com.

yeah I wouldn't mind getting a Negreanu home game goin seomtime. I would be down for this, b/c I don't have a home game down here unless I want to play w/ highschoolers.Omaha, HoldEm, Stud ,triple draw, razz and any kooky fun "dealers choice" games would be fine by me. say with a 20 dolla buy in or so?Any thoughts guys, please post em. I would be down anytime.

I don't live in Portland, but I play almost every day at spirit mountain. It is a great room, very professional, tons of bad players, I love it. They spread a 3-6 and 4-8 everyday, a 10-20 most days, a 30-60 mondays and thursdays and a 40-80 on tuesdays. Tuesday is "high hand for stud" ($100 for the highest 7stud hand every hour) but the game is awful 1-3-6 no antes so the rake takes all the chips. They also have a 2-4 holdem most days but the rake is too high (never play 2-4 in a casino all the money goes down the tube to the house). Anyways, the 10-20 and 30 - 60 are very beatable, it is tough to make a living out of that room playing just the ring games but the tournaments can help sometimes. They have "real money " tournaments wednesdays at 6pm and fridays at noon. Usually 70 -80 players, no limit, $30 buy in $20 rebuys for first hour and $20 add on after rebuy period. at the final table they give you cash value chips and you start out with $5 and $10 blinds. The lowest stack on the table can cash in his chips at anytime. Thursdays the have a "freeroll" where if you play for 5 hours that day you get in the tourney for free.see you aroundill
And, I fold

definitely hope they get it put up. 20 minute drive would be very nice. even for portlanders I think it would be closer than spirit mountain is if you live on the east side of portland.

not 100% sure on this but heard from a fairly reliable source that the casino in cascade locks has been approved and will make the official anouncement in a couple weeks.
