So I enter one of those $10 MTT's on PS... NLHE, 1st pays over $3k... 1100+ entrants or so.To start, I'm absolutely dominating, and at the first break I've got over 6k from my original 1500... A few hands after the first break... binds 75/150I'm in the SB with QQ... UTG+1 raises to 350... CO calls... I sit for a second and push all in for my 6k... original bettor folds... CO takes his time and calls...with ATo??Flop blank... turn blank... river... A.So right after that what do I hear? "Shit I folded AJ." "Yeah, I folded A8."That's right, that ace he hit was the last one in the deck. ---------------------So now I'm down to 2k... near the back of the pack. About 10 hands later, I hit Qs9d in the BB... a few callers to the CO who min-raises to 400... so I call the 200 more, knowing everyone else will, and they do.Flop: Kd Qd 6dBully stack (UTG+1) bets out 400... folds around to me... I figure there's a ton of money in the pot, I've got 2nd pair and a backup diamond... and this guy's been buying every pot he gets a chance at...So I push in my somewhat meager 2500 or so more...He sits there for a solid minute plus... at this point I'm PLEADING for a call to double up... and he finally calls! Turning over...AhJh????mmmmkay... so he's got his 2 non-diamond aces, and 3 non-diamond tens... so what does the turn bring?THE TEN OF HEARTS!The river blanks and I'm out 300 something'th...SIGH.

ok i'm no expert, but in your 1st example, why push allin preflop there? at that level you're nowhere near shortstacked... doesn't seem worth the risk to push preflop.I think I would have raised to 900, hoping to take the pot right there, or get 1 caller. Then if the flop didn't show A or K, push then, and the guy holding A 10 would have folded... maybe? heh not defending the crazy call by the A 10 guy, but anyway i think that's how i would have done it

that is what i should have done, and would normally do in cash games or other tourney situations... but i was playing off my image at that pt... i'd gone all-in preflop a lot of times, stealing blinds and playing uber-aggresive, which is thy only way to take those MTTs down... hoping to get a caller with an AQ type hand or underpair... and I did... but c'est la vie.

The push of all in on the first hand is not a great move. See the flop first. You know for a fact he's dropping w/ no A or 10 on the flop. Maybe reraise him slightly but don't let him be able to river a ace that he should've never seen. The second situation was a good play / bad call on other player don't kick ur self over that one.Good luck.

mmmmkay... so he's got his 2 non-diamond aces, and 3 non-diamond tens... so what does the turn bring? The first hand you played poorly, you shouldnt of re-raised allin PF, that was a bad movealso mmmmkay... so he's got his 2 non-diamond aces, and 3 non-diamond tens... so what does the turn bring? That makes no sense whatsoever, the 10 :D or A :) only give you a flush draw, his hand would still be best

oy sry... the second hand was 6d not 6c... typo there. i can put up the HH if you'd like i'm just lazy to dig it upand for the first hand, i hate seeing flops with hands like TT, JJ, QQ, when there's enough money i can take preflop that makes it worth just making sure to bag it then... obviously if id known what i was up against, i woulda waited for the flop to come blank and then pushed... but say i saw aflop and a K came? id have to fold to any sort of real aggresion, even tho neither had the K...and again, also playing off an image... literally 4 hands earlier i was on a steal with 92o and showed it... and id been playing uber-aggresive the entire way...thanks for the comments
