Playing a cash game. Nl(max bet 5). I am up 50 bucks wanting to leave to go home cause only 3 people left. but the small stack is like come on play some more. I get Ak. The small stack calls, the small blind raise 3 bucks.( Big blind) I reraise three bucks. Small stack folds. Raiser calls my raise. Flop come AA9. I am like wow. i flopped a monster. Then the small stack bets into me 3 bucks . I raise him another 3 ,warning him" your ace is no good". he calls. Turn is 7. He bets into me again 5 bucks. Now i am thinking maybe he has A 7 , A9 for a full house. i call ,jack, is the river he bets 5 , i call . He shows me pocket jacks for a full house. I was so disgusted. I pretty much blew my winnings broke even on that hand. Waste of a night. Went home soon after. 5 hours of work lost in 1 minute,.I dont think i could have played it anybetter. At the turn i was like maybe i am beat. how you lay down 3 of a kind with K kicker. Guy got lucky.

You don't lay it down. You raise it. You played the hand a little too passively. You can't always fear the nuts. You should have put him all in on the turn or raised a bunch more on the flop.

I think i played it agressively considering we could only max bet 5 bucks. Reason was one guy lost hist shirt a day earlier playing NL, so we said look come play, we will will make it max bet 5 bucks so things dont get out of hand. I guess my question should be how do you get the courage to fold such a huge hand. I find that the hardest thing to do.

it just sucks, but it happens.i dont like to whine about bad beats but....i have A2 in BB and no raises pre. flop A 2 2turn Q river J...he bet the flop, i raised..i bet HUGE on the turn.on the river i bet half his stack and he raised all in..he had JJlost 800 dollar pot.people cant fold high pairs. its a fact of life. another thing u had going against you is the fact that fish cant give you credit for an A when there are 2 on the board. its just eternal skepticism i guess
