shpaget 0
Just curious as to your thoughts. You're in the WSOP main event.First hand of the tourney and you're dealt two bulls. You limp-in, or raise 3x the blind, from utg, middle position or the button...whatever.Gus Hansen, or Barry Greenstein, or Fred Flintstone, to your left, goes all in.Though you do have the best hand, and it's likely he's got bulls too, do you risk everything on the very first hand of the tourney?I'm sure I'd call (I'm playing to win, not to survive - doesn't matter to me if it's the first, 20th, or 500th hand of the tourney) - is a person who folds in this situation cautious, gutless, smart or stupid? shpaget 0
I cannot believe that we are going down this road yet again...please go to another forum and post this nonsense over there. :wink:Thanks sweety...I've been here all of three days, and I haven't seen this posted, and it's always something I've wondered about how some people think.I'd never fold in that situation, but I'd be interested to know who would and why?And frankly, I'd love to play with them. But, though you did add a "wink", I fully expect the board police complain about the fact that this has been brought up before.Honestly, if they don't like it, ignore it, or don't respond to it. I've grown accustomed to the fact the the Internet consists of an enormous number of people with zero social skills, who like to exact supreme power without fear of retribution. They can waste their time and flame me all they want. I've got better things to do than worry about what anonymous users think about me.I haven't seen it before, so I'm interested in seeing it once. Briguy 0
*Yawn*This actually happened to me, on the second hand of a mid-sized live tourney. I called two all-ins with the bullets. I went home early. Would I do the same again? Duh, yes, every day and into the night. If you can't make this call, quit poker and take up something less nervewracking, like skydiving.

They can waste their time and flame me all they want. I've got better things to do than worry about what anonymous users think about me. Then why the response? This same ridiculous hypothetical has been proposed 15 million times in 15 million different ways. It's like a bad beat post (that's not in the bad beat section).

Mine can't be so special that you responded only to it, and not the others. If you have so much free time, why aren't you out playing poker and making some money? And it's not a bad beat, so it doesn't belong on that board.People who complain about bad beats should quit poker. They're part of the game...you're gonna benefit from them, you're gonna suffer from them...no point worrying about them, getting angry about them, or even remembering them for that matter. Because I wrote a post that wasted everybody's time? I was explaining why this post is so irritating, which it is. If you'd like further explanation (and an official flame): everyone who presents this powerhouse topic acts as if this is some revolutionary concept. I know you're going to say, "But I didn't do that, blub, blub," but just by posting this nonsensical attempt at strategy, you're coming off like an ass who doesn't take the time to search through a forum to see if their brilliant ideas have already been discussed six thousand times. And by the wayWhy are people so fascinated about getting dealt A-10 of hearts? What the **** does this mean? If I had THAT kind of free time, I 'd be at the casino playing poker, instead of posting when I have a few minutes from my day job.Would you feel better if, before every post, I put the disclaimer "If this has already been posted, I apologize" ?The fact is, as irritating as my post may have been (and I fully accept that assessment) you, and everyone else, had choices. You read the title of my post which clearly detailed its content (no bait and switch). You CHOSE to click on it, you CHOSE to read it, you CHOSE to be annoyed by it, and you CHOSE to respond to it.As far as the A-10 hearts - that is what is called "tongue in cheek". It's a basic observation that it is simply the rules that makes A-10 of hearts a great hand, and 2c3d4s9dqh crap. Both hands have the exact same odds of being dealt to you...so it's not like A-10 of hearts is more difficult to achieve.Anyway, like I said...tongue-in-cheek-in-between-the-lines commentary on the frivolousness of poker. I would have to kill myself if you hated me.As long as I'm a rainbow trout, I'm happy.I find some of you people quite funny with your disdain for fishies, and your quick assessment to label people as such.I also find it funny that people like you forget the irony that a shark is a fish.Anyway, I would gladly sit at a table against you with you believing I'm a fish or a donkey or a newbie or a rookie or a sucker (another type of fish)...fine by me.Here's a strategy question for you - is it worse to overestimate your opponent, or underestimate him? otnemem 0
Oh, and by the way, nobody expects you to search the forums (using the search function, not trolling through ALL previous posts like you suggested) every time you think of posting. Just when you think of posting and you begin to get the idea that you might be asking a really stupid question.
