BeanGW 0
Fellow Strategy Comrades:I found this article in todays Cardplayer to be an especially interesting read. If you haven't taken a look at it already today, IMHO it's worth the read, and perhaps even might enduce some discussion. Personally, I can't see any reason to argue with his logic or math here.http://www.cardplayer.com/poker_magazine/a....php?a_id=14423

Smasharoo 0
It's allways good to see 80/160 players advocating being calling stations.
bdams19 0
Haha, I was actually thinking the same thing. The whole article just seems to be based on risking getting outplayed, meh.
Guest
It's allways good to see 80/160 players advocating being calling stations.Yes, I would think previous reads on our opponent would be much more active in that article than discussing benefits of calling. It seems in this case, his examples point to calling if you want to be safe and have no idea what your opponent is holding...His last example is strange to me...calling when you know you are ahead after 4th street and letting them draw?In that case I would make my bet and take my money on the fold or on a call...most of what he mentions here that would be profitable from calling seems dependant on a whole lot of things going your way... bdams19 0
The fact that his example sites a hand where you don't really know what your opponent has, but he only has 2 outs kind of makes his argument a little one sided and ridiculous.
