From what I gather from SSHE, you should basically never fold to a bet on the river, that losing one bet far outweighs losing the multiple bets in the pot. At what point should you throw in the towel and let the fish win? I'm just having issues releasing the hand for a single measly bet.

If it was limped preflop and checked to the river, you can safely fold for a single bet. It's a judgment call after that. Typically if I have top pair or better, I'll call a single bet if the pot is 5 BB or greater.

Depends on reads man, SSHE is very basic, I dont think it says to never fold on the river. It says not to make those "tough" laydowns, but a lot of them are not tough at all but people call them way too much anyways because they mis-interpret SSHE.
