$25 6-max NLHL cash game on PP, bought in with $15 sitting pretty with a little over $50 and the biggest stack on the table. I'm dealt QQ on the button, everyone has limped in so I open up with a 6x BB bet to thin the field a little, and the bb doubles me. Flop comes down ragged jack high, he bets the exact amount of the pot, I double it, he calls.An ace hits on the turn, and he throws a huge bet into it. I put him on jacks aces or ace king, so either way I was behind and fold. That is almost scary. Let that be a lesson though to new players trying to become better, at this low level just don't make any moves. Play straight forward poker, when you have a hand bet it, when you are on a draw call, and if you think your behind fold. Don't try to bluff these people, they don't even know what they are holding half the time.

Looks like you caught a little fancy play syndrome, don't try to outthink donkey's it'll make you a broke player Play straightforward poker, it's all you need against these guys.

I am confused by the play pre-flop. You say you bet 6X BB, and he doubled you. So you just called here? Is that the correct play with queens? I am not telling I am asking, as I do not play a lot of NL so I don't know what the correct play would have been. If it was me that was being min-raised with the queens, I would probably push my stack in right there, putting him to a decision. If I am beat, so be it. :wink:

(This is Evenflown, posted on Jubbas computer)Just calling with queens in that situation most of the time will probably say is the wrong move, on a six handed table especially.There is only two hands I'm behind right now and the chances that he has aces or kings are low(although it does seem to happen more than you'd think).So the "correct" move there is to push with your queens and hope that he calls you with a lesser pocket pair.But against players of this calibuer, if you can even put the words "these players" and calibuer in the same sentence, that won't let go of Ax anything or any pp most of the time, I prefer to call and see the texture of the flop in this situation. I put him on jacks preflop anyways, if he had kings or aces he probably would have raised more.So if a jack ace or king flops I can let my hand go with out getting any more money invested in the pot, and if the flop comes good for me, I can make my move then and he'll probably still call because hes a fish.
