Today I played a sit n go with BPV3. Neither of us were really getting good hands but we were playing pretty solid. We both made a few bad calls and a few bad laydowns; I just want to discuss some of the hands and players we were up against.First and foremost, the chip leader was way too passive. It would have been alot harder for you and the other guy if he would have bet once in a while. But, because he wouldn't be aggressive with his big stack, you picked up some pots and got yourself some breathing room.I can't remember all the hands that came up, but I do remember a few good ones.I laid down QT to a minimum raise. You were in the BB with KK and raised after big stack and I limp. I folded to one more bet and you showed KK. Strangely enough, I senced strength. One big mistake I made was the first time I doubled you up. I limped in with Q9o and the board fell AAJ...It was checked around and the turn was a Q. You move all in for 600. I had about 2,400 with the blinds at 50/100. I called with my two pair!! why!? You could have had an ace or a straight. I could have easily folded, the pot was only about 400. It turns out BPV3 had the straight. Nice Hand, by the way.Another good one was later in the tournament when I picked up 9
4
in the big blind. You limp from the small blind. I thought about raising, but figured I had already raised the blinds enough for a while and should slow down. We were about even in chips, I think I might have had you covered. The flop came down 7
9
A
. You check, and I bet the minimum amount (200). You call, probably thinking it was a "post oak bluff". The turn is an 8
. You bet out 400, immediately I think you're stealing from me. My roommate is yelling "fold!!" in one ear and my brother is yelling "call" in the other. I move all in. You fold and tell me "nice bet".It wasnt a bluff, it was the weak lead. I figured I had the best hand, but wasn't willing to risk that much on the flop. Plus, I seen you pull the same move on someone earlier for using the minimum bet bluff. There was a time where you went all in on the bubble and I had AJo. Everyone was yelling for me to call, but I mucked the hand. what did you have? I didn't have that many chips at the time, so I didn't want to risk it, especially after doubling up that one guy when I called with AJo against his 33. If you don't want to tell me thats fine, but it's not very nice either. All in all I think we played great. One thing I notice about your play is that you didn't pick you very many pots. I don't know if you were just getting a bad run of cards or what, but I think you could have picked up more small pots and blinds. I know you got tired of me raising every time you were in the blind, but you were short stacked and you didn't put up a fight. That's all I noticed. Please give me some pointers on how I played. I don't know if you accept cunstructive criticism well, but I love it. Pick apart my game...please.I post the end on another thread, because it is a completely different subject. I got 2nd, BTW....That passive bastard beat me. lol.

All in all I think we played great.Well, your all in call with Q9 is pretty stunningly horrible, actually.Your push with two pair is marginal at best. You should have min-raised for value and seen the river. Possible you get beat by a bad river card, but not likely. You recognized weakness and...did what? Stopped getting any more chips from the weaker hand. Anyway, hope it worked out well.

Smash, I recognize that the Q9 was a bad call...My push with two pair was good in my opinion. Although, I don't remember writing anything about pushing with two pair.....huh. Thanks for trying to help, though.

Hey wrto, just found this thread. Yea, at the beginning I started off with a dry run of cards, then in the middle they picked up and i was able to take a few pots down. But it always seems whenever I do pick up a hand, someones got a better one, or nothing at all. So i either lose a pot of 800 or win a pot of 250. That had where you told me you folded AJ... I was just stealing blinds.. I had some ridiculous hand like J5o or something. Thats why i wrote the "luckily" after you said you folded AJ. I really liked that play where you did the weak lead on the turn, I felt like it was the right time to raise and try to take the pot, but coming over the top of me gave me no choice but to fold.As far as not being aggressive enough, I had no cards to be aggressive. A few times I bet, someone raised, and i re-raised on a bluff and they folded... but for the most part i was partying with my 82's and 37o... Lately I have no game for some reason, can't catch a card, can't make a decent play. As for your own game, im not sure if you were bluffing everytime. but whenever you raised my blinds i wanted so badly to come over the top of you, but as I said, in the event you called, I was left with a 5-10 offsuit or something.I did notice that when you had a real hand, you were good at extracting chips from people at the table. Other than that, I was a little to pissed off at my cards and play to worry about much else.

J5!?
I definately should have called. I knew it was possible I was way ahead, I just didn't have the chips to find out, and the Big Stack wasn't going to call you unless he had AK or better. It was a good time to push. No biggie. As for when you were big blind...If a short stack is in the BB i will raise alot of hands. I think I raised any Kxs or Axs, suited connectors, and any "20+". If you came over the top, I probably would have folded. Some...no; but most, yeah.Good game.As for the Big Stack, when It got head-up, I knew I was going to beat him. I raised his blinds the first 7 hands and picked everything up (200/400). I built my stack to about 9,000 in chips to his 4,500. Then we played a hand...I raised K
3
, and he re-raised me. Big pot as I was raising it to atleast 1,200-1,600. Flop comes 5
3
Q
. He bets almost all in, and I had to fold. I was left with 5,000 to his 5,000. I raise again...garbage hand....he re-raises and I muck. I know that if he raises he has a good hand. That's how he played all night. Then I raise again the next hand with J5o, and he re-raises again. So, I move all in like a retard. He shows A
Q
.I knew that if he raised he had a good hand. But I went astray from my normal strategy. o well. I'll get him next time.
