Jubba 0
I was recently playing in a cheap ($5) sit-n-go on PP of O8. I know how to play the game and I'm fairly confident in my ability in this game, at least against the people that play on Party that have absolutely no idea what they are doing.During the first few levels during these SnGs I tend to play semi-tight and hope to hit the flop hard and take down a huge pot because everyone calls all the way down with anything, so since they are playing anything capped preflop, my selection of hands is cut drastically.Anyway, to the point: I'm in mid-position with a couple of kids behind me that have been raising almost every pot, I'm dealt Ad-As-3c-10h. Its been limped to me, but I elect to fold simply because the only thing I really have going for me is the A-3 low, A-10 high, or the A-A high. No flush possiblities and no great straight possible short of some exceptional flop for me. So I decided to fold.Had the hand been double- (maybe even single-) suited I might have considered calling. Is this a reasonable fold, or is this an "I-hate-money" fold? I have been pretty successful in the sit-n-gos. The main reason I play them is because its a BR-safe way to learn and perfect my game before I move to the cash games. I have played about 32-ish or so SnGs and my place is about about even in each spot 3:4:3 and have about 4-5 out of the money finishes.Edit: Just wanted to mention that this isn't a fold I would make everytime or from every position and it was dependent mostly on that fact that this table was being stupidly aggressive preflop raising with borderline hands like 8-6-8-9 off-suit. While my hand may be a large favorite preflop, isolation was next to impossible on this table as there were easily 4-7 players in each hand, even when capped. That can easily change after the flop against so many people and I like to stick to hands that have a good change of scooping. And i just won the SnG that this hand happened in... Kendren 1
Well, according to the hand you listed, you're suited in diamonds, so maybe that's wrong, I dunno. If you were completely unsuited, I might fold to a cap, but I still think I'd see a flop for 2 bets or less. I'm more of an omaha hi player anyways, so I'll let some of the better o/8 players talk. Jubba 0
yeah i fixed that. It was an unsuited hand.
cdddc75 0
AAT3 unsuited is very marginal. I'd love to see a flop cheap with it, but under the conditions of your game folding is definitely reasonable.I assume this was a limit O8 tourney. By the way, stop playing $5 SNGs at Party. That 20% rake sucks.

That 20% rake sucks.Yeah, I know. Problem is I had to cash out my original bankroll (about $1000) because of an emergency car breakdown. So I had to start with a $50 deposit at PP. Sucks starting back at square-1... I didn't want to start playing the $10 until I got an appropriate BR.

Makes a big difference when you're rebuilding a bankroll. Opposition should be just as soft, and when you've built up you can always ship it back to Party.

PP is def not my first choice (hell it wouldn't even be my last choice). Problem is I'm not playing on my account. Its the account of my friend. He had $10 left and he decided to take a break after a bad run. He told me that if I wanted to try to play with that $10 then I could. I'm just mooching off of his account for a while. I plan on transfering the money. As soon as I get the chance.
