So a while ago I am playing a no limit tourney at a friends house. There were 5 of us left and I was 3rd place in chips. So I was sitting fine. Well my dad (of all people) were there. My dad will play any 2 cards that are dealt. He believes that you need to see every card on the board or else you might kick yourself because you didnt play it. Unlike him, I like to WIN tournaments. So knowing hes a "jackal" at the table, I always play tight at the table until he gets out. I get in a hand with him. He is in the big blind, first posisiton folds it comes to me and I get AA. Im excited to finally double up against my dad cause he WILL call no matter what. So I raise 5x the BB. Everyone folds to him. He raises. So I worry maybe he picked up a hand in the big blind. But I figured he was just trying to push me out. So I go "All-in" and he calls immediatley so im worried about another pocket pair and him catching trips. He shows a Q 3 offsuit! I was so happy! I was in posistion to win the tourney. The flop: A 2 5, giving him the wheel draw and me trip aces. But I knew as soon as I saw that I was done (cause its my luck). The turn: a FOUR (4), giving him the wheel. I couldn't believe it so I had one out and that was to pair the board. And of course the 9 of hearts comes out and I was crippled. I use to throw my chips and cards but i've matured much at the table since (this was almost 5 months ago now). So thats my bad beat so that says you should always play tight against a "jackal" at the table and hope he doesnt catch 2 pair on the flop...thats all I got...
