RISEorFall 0
Omaha hi/lo on Absolute Poker. I only have a good read on one player...she chases anything and everything all the time. Earlier today she chased a 4-2 high runner runner flush draw, and hit, when i flopped a straight. But she bets out when she hits her draws, never seen her check/raise. Other than that the rest of the 6-max table seems like every other Omaha hi/lo player on Absolute...passive as hell. They'll only bet lows, and high hands bigger than 2 pair. I'm on the button with 9 8 9 2 Not a great hand, by any means, but I have the button and I can outplay all of them post-flop. No raises, all 6 of us see a flop. Flop comes 7 10 J rainboweveryone checks to me, I bet with my straight, everyone but CO callsTurn is a 4 making 2 diamonds. everyone checks to me, I bet, everyone calls. River is a 2 everyone checks to me. Do I value bet this? Do I check and take the free showdown? I think I'm atleast splitting, if someone didn't hit a small flush and are check/calling it. I know the one chick I have a read on doesn't have a low or flush or she would've bet. But the 3 others scare me. Does anyone value bet this or take the free showdown? Vade 0
Check. It's painfully obvious that you're probably beat here. Ouch, but you have some hope in the passiveness of the table, mayb you'd win 1/4 of the time at best.
TheIceman05 0
No way can you value bet here. I'd be ecstatic if I took this pot down. Check behind and hope nobody woke-up to catch a running flush.CheersIce
gobears 0
Check - someone made a junky flush and doesn't want to bet it.If you happen to win this somehow, just be happy.

RISEorFall 0
I know I know I know the hand is garbage. against better players I fold this in a heartbeat. But a hand like this where I can make medium straights, flushes, and sets pays off big against loose calling stations, which is what these tables are filled with. Believe me in normal circumstances this is dumped in a heartbeat....but anyway on the end I thought for a minute, end up betting out b/c I'd be mad if I missed a bet, and everyone calls. Surprise. At this point I'm cursing to myself when...one guy shows a low hand, and everyone else mucks. I can't for the life of me figure out what they had. I'm guessing one hit 2 pair and maybe a baby set and someone else had a worse low. But yeah I'm pretty sure I got lucky noone ended up with a small flush.
Smasharoo 0
Fold this cheese pf or stop playing O8.

In fact this is the only possible str8 that is even decent. Even then though it isnt that great. When making calls in O8 take into account the # of good flop there are for your hand. With this hand there are maybe 3 all of them include 9's. 2 boats and quads.
cdddc75 0
Fold this cheese pf or stop playing O8.Exactly.It's also fairly apparent that you can't outplay the table postflop.
Absolute 0
Fold this cheese pf or stop playing O8.Exactly.It's also fairly apparent that you can't outplay the table postflop.postflop play has absolutely nothing to do with ithe could be a postflop fucking jedi and still be involved with hands that usually have him beat.its the same reason you shouldnt play A4 offsuit.you only get action when you are beat. TJ_Eckleburg 0
Not to gang up on you......but echoing everyone else's sentiments, this is a terrible hand to play preflop. O8 isn't like no limit hold'em, inasmuch as the right players can make the right plays with any kinds of hands and win money. O8, MUCH moreso than NLH, is a very objective game at low limits. It's all about playing the hands with massive edges over other hands. You'll frequently be dominated by your opponents if you play this hand, and will rarely win money with it.For example, if you had a huge sample size of O8 hands for pokertracker, and ran a test to see where you're at for playing 9s8s92, I'd guarantee you'd be negative EV over 100 hands. It's not about postflop play, the hand is just that bad.But for your question, yes check the river through. You could probably call one bet, but you don't want to make one bet and get check-raised. RISEorFall 0
Not to gang up on you...Hey no gang up on me...i was doing really well at the O8 tables there for a while then hit a brick wall and went on a huge downswing...I thought I was playing too loose post-flop (yeah I like to contradict myself) but being too loose pre-flop makes more sense. TJ_Eckleburg 0
In my opinion, Stud and O/8 are the games where preflop tightness is probably the single-most important factor to being a winning player.
