Very agressive table. UTG is a bit of a maniac, playing 55% of hands pre-flop, raising 70% of the time. UTG+1 is pretty good. Smart enough to isolate the maniac whenever he can to take advantage of his good seat position. LP just sat down.UTG raises, UTG+1 three bets. LP caps.Call or lay it down?

I'm calling. If an overcard falls on the flop I'll fold most likely and if not, I'll be cautious depending on the read on UTG+1

The cap from the new player wouldn't worry you?

My experience with 3/6 is that it's fairly loose. Thus I would like to get my pocket pair in the action with a nice pot size. I can lay it down if I don't hit it.... The pot could be further sweetened if the new player has an underpair and flops a set.... if you hit trips with the Jacks you are sitting pretty.Point is, sometimes you need to take a stab at a large pot. In limit this is much easier without risking your whole buy-in. Get luck and hit the flop big, you've more than paid for the extra bets you just called down.I don't recommend this play often, but given your description of the UTG and UTG+1 I would call.

I don't recommend this play often, but given your description of the UTG and UTG+1 I would call. You might be right, but I'm not going to be happy with any flop without a jack here. and I'm only getting 3 to 1 to draw at a 1 to 8 shot that I hit it. I laid it down, but didn't feel great about it.

If I had no money in the pot I would lay it down, you're more than likely a slight favorite or up against overcards yada yada.......

in a very loose agressive game, id recommend a call in that spot. if you do make a set then you will most likely win a massive pot. if the flop comes a bunch of rags, then you can evaluate from there.... maybe raise the flop. if you still got an overpair on the turn, you will quickly find out if it is good or not.

I tend to agree with Smasharoo that the proper play is to lay it down. Yes it hurts, but the only flop that can make you feel great is a J. Preflop, you are probably beat. That being said, I don't think a call is that horrible a play, but you have to figure that someone is holding at least overcards.

Laydown. There are too many hands against you. JJ is a laydown against capped raises for me..

I was in a 4-8 at the Reno Hilton a couple of weeks ago - had K's cracked twice in a similar situation. Ace fell pre-flop on one of them; got out and winner had A. Other one was tougher, no A on flop but someone rivered a straight on me as they had the odds to keep calling.

lay it down in limit. potential call in no limit depending on the raise/implied odds. if 2 all-ins ahead of you and you are holding J's, definitely a laydown - may be even Q's (tho thats being tight).for the fun of poker, its not true that you are going to be unhappy with any flop without a J. suppose you were holding Jh Js, and flop is 8h,9h,10h. then you are roughly 60/40 to win vs A's, K's or Q's and a tiny bit behind a set.

Lay it down. It's not like you're gonna improve to a straight or flush, which are two consistent winners in Limit. Just don't even get involved, this one is easy.

i dont know about 'easy'. if u hit your set after 3 bets, you totallyget paid off especially given position, and you can lay it down dpnding on betting actions post flop if J does not hit or a straight draw does not hit + there is a chance your J's were good (maynot be high chance however)
