how do you set up tourneys on poker stars?
You need to have accumulated enough Frequent Player points - 2,000 I believe (doesn't matter if you've used them as long as you've accumulated them). Then e-mail customer support and let them know that you would like the ability to create private tournaments - they respond very quickly.

Log onto pokerstars and use their time (bottom left corner). It will start when that clock says 21:00

Does it cost you 2000 FPP to create one? Thanks for the help, appreciate it.

No, it's free once they give you the capability - it shows up as an extra menu option.

DNA,You took down 1st place last tourney didn't you? How much did you get for 1st?
Last week there were only 30 players, but we put the tourny together last minute (like posted it 7 hours before it was suppose to start). Back when we were doing these before we had like 70 people average so hopefully we can get the numbers back up and it will pay out more. Here was the prize pool for last weeks ...PokerStars Tournament #8286743, No Limit Hold'em Buy-In: $10.00/$1.00 30 players Total Prize Pool: $300.00 Tournament started - 2005/05/25 - 21:00:00 (ET) Tournament finished - 2005/05/25 - 23:21:14 (ET) 1: dna4ever (Old Hickory), $120.00 (40%) 2: poguemahone1 (San Francisco), $72.00 (24%) 3: MVTh (Edmonton), $48.00 (16%) 4: Blinkster (Galesburg), $36.00 (12%) 5: duke0125 (pointe-claire), $24.00 (8%)

Hey DNA, is there a way to have it show the payouts before the tourney starts? This would perhaps entice more people to participate
Its always based upon the number of entrants. It seems like the number of entrants doubles the last 10 minutes before it starts. I think we only had like 11 people signed up for this last week an hour before it was supposed to start and within the last hour 20 people signed up.I remember when we did these before we went from 25 to 75 in an hour.Money is a nice side effect of these tourneys, but I know its not my main motivation for playing. These are a lot of fun and its great to needle people once in awhile. Its also a nice sense of accomplishment when you do well since the majority of the people that play this tourny spend alot of time reading, playing, and working on their poker game. You can goto the tournmanet lobby of this tourny and click on Tournament Info and it will tell you the payout the tourny will pay based upon the number of entrants.3- 27 entrants pays 1st - 50%2nd - 30%3rd - 20%28-45 entrants pays1st - 40%2nd - 24%3rd -16%4th - 12%5th - 9%46 - 100 pays top 9, etc etcFigure $10 per entrant and you can figure the payouts based on those percentages.
