econ_tim 0
Do you guys have any tricks for keeping on track during downswings? Over the past few days, I'm down over 100 BB. It's basically been a suck-out fest, with the majority of my premium hands losing to crap. Anyway, I know this isn't uncommon, but it can be frustrating.

Don't worry I think WRTO still has me beat... but we've gone on some bad downswings. 6-Max and Propping will bring you for a wild ride :DRe-read stuff, get re-focused, make sure you aren't tilting and it's just Variance, then you offer a Sacrafice to the poker gods. jayboogie 0
Downswings are unavoidable, they're frustrating no matter what but 100 times worst when your short on bankroll. It also seems to happen at the worst times, such as when you've taken out a chunk of bankroll to pay some bills, just moved up a limit and etc. I feel bankroll plays a big part here, because if you've got 500 BB's at the limit you play, losing a 100 BB's won't be as bad as having 200 BB's and losing 100 of it. It's just a mental thing that you've lost a good chunk of your bankroll and will affect your play greatly because if you stick at this limit, your really short and desperately need a win. I personally believe that the higher the bankroll you have for the particular limit, the better off you play. Say you have a 10 k bankroll for 5/10, your going to play better and way more confident because any loss won't put a dent in your bankroll. It is very important to not play with scared money. Personally I can tell who is afraid to lose money when they play and I'm always putting pressure on them and sooner or later they crack. My advice is to move down a limit or 2 and get your confidence back. It's hard to do, because our ego doesn't want to move back down when we've gotten up to a certain limit. When I run bad with 10/20 and 15/30, I'll go back down to 5/10 and even lower and start crushing these games, get my confidence back and be running good in my normal games again.
