Um, I don't know if this is legal.

I thought only Toews Rule players counted as not being on your farm. If you have 5 picks, shouldn't your farm need to be down to 15 (not including Nichushkin)?

edit - oops, Bob beat me to it... of course he did. Thanks Bob. :)

I thought I could call them up before picking. Has that changed?

of course not, we have never been able to do that. You have to pay their contracts in that case.

Only your Toews rule players don't count towards the 20.

You have some deadwood to drop before you make your picks though and it's only one player.

My understanding is that you would have needed to use their salary and roster space on them before the signing deadline then.

I had to do this with Toffoli, Stone, Graovac, probably others because my farm was too full before the draft in previous years.

I was going to do it this year with Vesey too, but I didn't have to after I traded you the pick for cash, thankfully.

Can't I decide before making my 5th pick whether or not I'd like to use that pick and drop a player from my farm or if I'd rather forfeit the pick?

It was like that before. I wasn't aware that had changed. Has it?

yes, that is always an option for you and hasn't changed.

If you would rather have as an example Cole Cassels instead of whoever you could draft with that pick you can just forfeit the pick

And just to clarify, I can still make that decision when it gets to that pick, correct?

When I first heard about negotiations on this, I figured that Wayne was getting the best of it..But looking at salaries its pretty even..

Can Brayden take it to the next level?

Rielly is poised to be a superstar...He looks really good at the Worlds.
