way too early for this, and we all know its going to change. But...

Whalers own the players who are:

2nd overall in scoring (Voracek)
3rd overall in scoring (Kessel)
5th overall in scoring, and highest D-man (Giordano)

its strange to look at the top 5 and see 3 Whalers. Usually more about depth then top power.

You think?
I dont know, I see Voracek as more top 10. :)

Also, my record should probably be better with these 3 playing like this. :(

You need to coach Kessel better on game nights.

Tell me about it.

Nothings worse than seeing your best player in the AHL score on an off night, when he's playing your goalie who is your MVP in your other pool.
I needed a 3-0 Boston win last night, couple of goals by Marchand, but got nothing near what I needed. That hurt.

beefing up the D. Im a Streit fan, hoping he can keep up his magic and stay healthy for another year or 3.

Beleskey has been crazy good, and I think Reider has a really bright future, but we're playing to win now in WhalerLand.

What a trade. Sell absurdly high on someone playing soooo unsustainably and an FA pickup from like a week ago for a legit d-man.

I had Beleskey last year, traded him to Dale this summer, and he let him go unsigned.

I dont know what to do with Tatar.
He's hot, has like 10pts in his last 7gp, but I already have Nyqvist, so cant call up Tatar too.

someone trade me a Tatar-clone on another team!

Hmm. I don't have anyone like that I don't think. Plus I have the worse, but younger, Jurco. I'm no help.

Whalers are still looking to make moves.

Got a tremendously awful offer from another team in the league who shall remain nameless. But it was very late at night (or very early in the morning), so I tend to excuse his behaviour and not call him out publicly for such an awful awful offer. I mean, it was horrendous, we are talking Biatch-level bad, and he should know better, but I really don't like to call people out publicly, especially private texts that should remain private. Really, whats the benefit in airing out the dirty laundry? So I will stay quiet.

But as the leader of the AHL standings, he should know better.

To Shoot Loose:
N. Scherbak MTL FWD (farm)
M. Reilly CBJ DEF
M. Marincin EDM DEF (farm)
Calgary GTD

To Whalers:
LA GTD
P.Elias NJD FWD

The power rankings really upset me this week, so I went and overpaid for goaltending. :)

Would have traded Philly and kept Calgary, but the sched with LA-NJ-PHI covers me throughout the playoffs. (and i think for the rest of this year too)

Hated giving up Reilly and Scherbak, I think I grossly overpaid when looking at the Ingmen-Boston deal, but oh well.

WSE (Whalers Sports and Entertainment) is letting its fans know that we are never resting on our laurels. While we are happy with the lead in the division at the all star break, we are very aware of how quickly that can change.

In that vain, we are sending our highest levels of management overseas to meet with another member organization of the AHL in the hopes of pulling off a major move to put the team over the top for the stretch run and in the playoffs. We hope to consumate what will be the first ever AHL trade made entirely on European soil.

Stay tuned...

The Kessel guy was busy at work, and then when he was free, the offer was rescinded.
I probably would have traded you Kessel and Voracek for Weber. Oh well.

I hear Shea Weber is available.

Wayne trades weber for Kessel and voracek, then trades Kessel to serge with a late pick for Kane. Serge gets better than he hoped for, Arp gets his deal and Wayne gets Voracek and a 1st for free. Lol.
Long signatures are really annoying.
