Toronto/brampton In February

Recommended Posts

There seems to be a solid chance that I'll be Brampton in February of 2013. I need opinions on what I may need and or places to go while I'm there. Especially booze, I feel like I may need a lot of booze to get through the week.

Details are rough right now, but that's all I know.

Brampton is a pretty boring suburb of Toronto for the most part and it's pretty spread out.

Where in Brampton are you going to be and how much free time will you have and will you have a rental car ?

You aren't that far from downtown Toronto but traffic here can be just as bad as LA

If you are into curry and biryani, then Brampton is the place to go.

You are about 30-40 mins away from downtown Toronto.

I know there are lots of boozing places to go in Brampton. Just go where the white folks are.

I believe in my lifetime I may have gone to Brampton 5 times (only to the Battalion rink).

Been busy, forgot to get back to this.

I'm going for a Muslim wedding so I'll be having a lot of curry and dishes like that. Hence also why I'm looking for ideas to drink as there won't be any booze at the wedding.

As for a car, I hope I end up with a car from someone or else asses will be kicked. As far as I'm concerned any free time will be devoted to seeing the Brampton Battalion or any other Jr. Game in the area.

Let me know the dates you are here, we can hook up for a few beers..

I owe you a couple for your scouting work.

:)

I'll let you know the dates, I'm going to try to make a longer trip out of it so I have free time away from the "engagement party" so I can check out GTA and as many OHL that I can. Hopefully NHL too.

Too bad ur not coming to o town

My mistake was ****ing up and not going last year for the All-Star game.

So if the NHL comes back, is it a dick move if I skip out on my friends thing and head to the ACC instead?

I don't think there's much to worry about the NHL coming back before October...but no, beers and hockey easily trumps Muslim wedding curry shits.

It's actually Richmond Hill.

Anyway...does it have to be hockey related?

If you are able to drive 1 hour east or west. There is poker action (East is limit poker and West is no limit poker). Don't forget we are only 1.5 hour drive from a natural wonder of the world (Niagara Falls).

You can skate at Nathan Phillips Square in downtown Toronto. Visit Chinatown, Little Italy, Greektown, Indiatown, etc. if you are into cultural ethnic stuff. Other cultural stuff is the Museum, Art Gallery, Casa Loma, CN Tower? etc.

your probably staying on Hwy 7 and leslie lots of hotels there. You went from little india to chinatown but still close enough to easily get away. Woodbine casino which is half an hour away from you has the new poker room with mechanical dealers and very weak players. Not sure how much to trust these things but a friend of mine has made some money.

Like others mentioned live action is on 1-1.5 hr drive away. It will be cold mid February actually freezing cold so be ready. I am boycotting the Real Sports Bar so I have nothing good to say about them ****em. Junior hockey is all around you so catching a game should be easy especially if someone has a car.

I'd like it to be somewhat hockey related personally. My two friends not so much. So stuff they can do sounds good.

I'd definitely would over pay to skate somewhere outdoors in Canada. That to me would be worth it. I do hope to get to the CN Tower that would be pretty damn cool.

Probably won't hit up a casino. Once you live a couple hours away from multiple Indian Casinos as well as Las Vegas being 3 hours away, gambling isn't important.

Richmond Hill/Markham is my neck of the woods.

Definetly make sure you got a car, then after that, your not far from any part of the city. At the right time, CN Tower/downtown is a 20minute ride away.

Markham!!!!!!

When you step out of the hotel, you may think you are in Hong Kong.
