I don't post on 2+2 anymore but I recently saw this article: http://www.examiner....2-2-poker-forum

Have a heart. It's for charity. Stop being such nits. I get along fine with David Sklansky and feel like he really isn't too involved with all this crap, but Mason Malmuth and that kook moderator are greasy, slimy, nerdy, nutcases and they make me sick.

Even before seeing the article, I was gonna respond with a big fat "DUH"... but wow, that's pretty absurd.

Yeah, I started a thread about this article on 2+2. It no longer exists even though I never mentioned the name of the charity or the name of the podcast. It was first moved to ATF & now no longer even exists. The funny thing is it appears it was Kevmath who moved the thread to ATF to await it's fate after being in NVG for less than 5 minutes & 50 views. What makes this all the more shocking is if you scroll down the guest list you'll see Kevmath is involved in this. He's listed as a guest but has been a host on Filthy Limper Radio & I'm sure he will be doing some hosting here as well.
He actually did it a favor because all the other mods, especially Daniel's friend ProfessionalPoker, would have insta-deleted it. He only moved it so there was still a record of it in NVG that you could click the title & it would link you to it until Mason gave it the thumbs down & had it deleted so I'm sure a few hundred at least saw it.

In the thread I linked the above article by Steve Ruddock & a link to Riley Dempster's story. She is the daughter of Ryan Dempster of the Texas Rangers who will be on the podcast & suffers from this affliction.
I also included this list of guests for the 50 hour podcast but I guess this isn't newsworthy for 2+2. It's a who's who of poker:

Guest List So Far:
Sheila Kambin (22Q Rep) 9/3 10:00am EST
Josh Arieh (Poker Pro) 9/3 11:00am EST
Norman Chad (ESPN Commentator) 9/3 9:00pm EST
Ryan Dempster (MLB Superstar - Texas Rangers) 9/4 2:00pm EST
Shannon Shorr (Poker Pro) 9/4 3:00pm EST
Jared Tendler (Mindset Expert) 9/4 5:00pm EST
Jamie Gold (WSOP Champion) 9/4 8:00pm EST
Gavin Griffin (Poker Pro) 9/4 9:30pm EST
Michele Breedlove (22Q) 9/4 10:00pm EST
Dusty Schmidt (Poker Pro) 9/5 12:00am EST
Kevmath (Internet Superstar) 9/3 1:00pm EST

Guests who have committed but have yet to schedule a time:
Matt Savage (WPT Tournament Director)
Christina Lindley (Poker Player, Model)
Greg Raymer (WSOP Champion)
Jonathon Little (Poker Pro)
Tony G (Poker Pro, Olympic Basketball)
Richard Roeper (Movie Critic / Writer)
Greg "FBT" Mueller (Poker Pro)
Andy Frankenberger (Poker Pro)
Chris Moneymaker (WSOP Champion)
Victor Ramdin (Poker Pro)
David Plastik (Poker Pro)
Asian Spa (#Truthspeaker)

I know they tried to get you(Daniel N.) on the program & hopefully you still might appear even if it's just a random phone call to say hi & give your support. Here's the website with more info on this worthwhile cause: http://www.podcastvegas.com/
Here's a link to the forum thread with more info on the podcast & charity: http://podcastvegas....ic.php?f=8&t=10

I was the original person to post, and have the DM "run in" with Professionalpoker. I was really pissed about him pointing out how big or small the foundation was. The point of the foundation, and what the radio show is trying to get across is we need to raise awareness for this. The 22q deletion is almost as common as Downs, but no one knows about it because the testing for it has only been in existence for abvout 15 years, and currently, we are trying to get pre-natal screening pushed through the government so more kids can be detected early on. My daughter has 22q, but we didn't know until she was almost 2, and when we did find out, we had no answers for her because she has whats called a microdeletion. So my wife (who is now on the board for the foundation) and I volunteer our time and efforts to try to raise awareness for these kids and their families, so the next kid doesn't have to wonder what the hell he or she has.

So as you can se, when Professionalpoker makes his statement about the foundation, it screams ignorance. But worse, it screams that he really doesn't care and doesn't want to be aware, and thats the worst kind of person for us and what we're trying to do.

Daniel, thank you for taking the time to start this thread. By doing this, you have already started to do what we as a family are trying to accomplish every day; raise awareness for 22q.

And Hockey Guy, thanks again for re-starting that thread. You had much better success than I did.

Joe

Trying to determine if I'm greasy, slimy, nerdy or a nutcase...

Anyways, the reason why I personally moved the thread in question was an attempt to keep the thread alive.

Obviously, that didn't work out.

Kevmath you'll notice I gave you credit for that. That's what I thought you were trying to do.

Also he's not talking about the thread I started but the decision to disallow any mention of it & PP condescending PM exchange.

I know Daniel's not referencing me personally. I can certainly understand both Daniel's and 2+2's side in the matter.

Would it be nice if 2+2 allowed SOME people to post charity threads? Of course. However, there have been instances across 2+2 where charity efforts where they were scams.

An example:

Okay, I get your point.

Would it have been okay to post about the podcast & the impressive guest list & not mention anything about the charity aspect? If so would a direct link to the podcast have been okay?

Personally, I don't have an issue. However, other NVG moderators would probably remove the thread and then we get the brouhaha currently underway.

I appreciate your honesty. I don't see any difference between the scenario I posted above & some fanboy posting some random blog.

Hey guys,My name is Johnny Sep..

I am the owner/host of the podcast,

First, thank you Daniel, I appreciate you making this thread and making people aware of your opinion. Secondly, I am aware of the 2+2 policy and I can't even say that I completely disagree with it, I think a better policy would be to do 5 minutes worth of research and verify that the charity is okay before completely dismissing and insulting it, obv ProfessionalPoker has that kind of time on his hands. Kevmath posted a link to the UCARE scandal, couple things, first while that was unraveling I did a 3 hour podcast to help expose all of those details, second, the charity didn't have a thread on 2p2, a user came to post about being rolled by the charity, you can't use that as an example of charity backfiring on 2p2 because it never makes it to NVG without the controversy.

May as well link to the Barry Greenstein playground thread as an example of the poker community doing something wonderful for a worth cause, or all the Ante Up for Africa threads, etc...

The two threads that were posted on 2p2 were posted by people uninvolved in my website and posted because they thought it was topical, I knew that someone would try to make a thread about it at some point so I reached out to Mason Malmuth in advance and that did not got well....

Hello Mason,

My name is John Sep, I am an owner at www.VegasPokerRadio.com . I am writing you because we are hosting a 50 hour poker show beginning on September 3rd to benefit the 22Q Foundation, a charity that helps make life easier for children who suffer from 22Q.11 deletion syndrome (22Q.org for more information)

The press release is here...

http://www.podcastve....rg-foundation/

The guest list for the show is looks like this so far:

Sheila Kambin (22Q Rep)
Josh Arieh
Norman Chad
Ryan Dempster (Texas Rangers)
Shannon Shorr
Jared Tendler
Jamie Gold
Gavin Griffin
Michele Breedlove (22Q Rep)
Dusty Schmidt
Matt Savage
Christina Lindley
Greg Raymer
Jonathon Little
Tony G
Richard Roeper
Greg "FBT" Mueller
Andy Frankenberger
Chris Moneymaker
Victor Ramdin
David Plastik
Asian Spa

I am writing you for a few reasons, one of our listeners wanted to make a thread about it here, but I asked that he didn't without me reaching out to you first and seeing if it was acceptable for someone not involved with the show or site to make a thread about it.

Also, I wanted to see if you, David or the guys from the Pokercast had any interest in being a guest on the show.

Thanks for taking the time to read all of this and I look forward to hearing back from you.

John

I'm sorry but it's 2+2 policy not to support any charities.

Mason

Quote

I'm not asking you to support it, I am asking if it is okay for someone to make a thread discussing it. I am not going to make a thread about it, no one who has anything to do with the show will make a thread, it is topical and relevant poker news, I just wanted to extend the courtesy of reaching out to you before one of my users just popped up a thread, thats all.

John

Quote

No. It's our policy not to support charities. I think this should be clear.

MM

I honestly don't care what 2p2 does and what their policy is, I am fine with them saying no. What is not okay is the way they treat and talk to people, especially those attempting to do something good for someone else...

That's the part that is mind boggling to me.

They absolutely need to get rid of the "kook moderator" ProfessionalPoker. His reasonings are just plain bizarre. Recently he was harassing me in the forums and sending me insulting pm's just for the sport of it. I suspect it was for my open criticism of him during the ridiculous DN ban. It's the only previous contact I had ever had with him. I had to contact Mason Malmuth to get him to stop. The problem is that MM will never get rid of PP because PP is the guy that sells the 2+2 books creating revenue for the site.
