Negreanu Eliminated By TimexPosted 7 minutes ago by donpeters
We didn’t catch all the action, but we do know that Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu managed to get all in for about 200,000 with the
on a flop of

and was up against the
of Mike “Timex” McDonald.“Uh oh,” Negreanu said, “I only did it because there’s rebuys.”The
turn was bad for Negreanu as it improved McDonald to trips, but it’d be the
on the river that would improve the latter to a flush even though it made Negreanu's straight.“I just swapped with ElkY, too,” Negreanu said. “Poor guy. Oh well, I’m going to take a nap.”Sure enough, Negreanu exited the tournament floor, though it sounded as though he might return later in the day and rebuy.Read more: http://www.pokernews...er-high-roller/

Daniel Negreanu on Day 1.Daniel Negreanu's Day 2 didn't go much better than it did yesterday. Over at the feature table, "Kid Poker" managed to get his stack all in preflop with
only to find himself up against the
of Dan Smith. The board would run out clean for Smith, who continued to roll in the early levels by chipping up to 1.7 million.Meanwhile, Negreanu made a quiet exit from the tournament floor--€100,000 poorer.Read more: http://www.pokernews...er-high-roller/

I love the game of poker for the competition, the psychology, the never-ending quest to improve, the advanced and sometimes minute complexities not everyone sees when they play, and the enjoyment of succeeding after giving all your energy to reach a goal that may at first seem unattainable but that you find a way to make it possible.

JC Alvarado - 2nd PlaceFrom the button, JC Alvarado raised and then Dan Smith reraised all in from the big blind. Alvarado quickly called holding the
. Smith held the
and would need to get lucky if he wanted to end it here. The flop sums up just what kind of tournament it's been for Smith, coming down

to give him the lead. Heck, it's summed up his entire year with the way he's been winning everything he touches. After the flop put him in front, it was just a matter of the
on the turn and
on the river before the deal was signed, sealed and delivered. Alvarado finished the hand second best and the tournament runner-up, taking home €788,675. That is by far the largest score of Alvarado's career, but still leaves a bitter taste in his mouth as any second-place finish will do. Chip Counts Dan Smith 16,000,000 2,580,000
