Euro 2012 just got underway with tomorrow being day 4 of the tournament.Day 1 saw the hosts Poland versus the 2004 champions Greece. The match ended 1-1 with Poland possibly feeling like they let it slip away. The other match in group A saw Czech Republic lose 4-1 to Russia.Day 2 saw group B get underway with two 1-0 results. In the first game, Denmark shocked Holland by winning 1-0. The second game saw '08 runners-up Germany beat '04 runners-up Portugal by the same scoreline.Day 3 saw reigning World and European champions Spain face Italy in group C. The game finished 2-2 in what was an excellent match. In the second game, Croatia crushed Ireland's dreams by winning 3-1.Unfortunate result from Ireland today. Weren't good enough and Croatia deserved to win. Other than that, really enjoyed the tournament thus far. All games have been pretty entertaining and hopefully it keeps up. All the groups were very tough to call from the off so hopefully it'll be an interesting, entertaining and quality tournament.

Croatia did play better, but when you don't get the offside call (tho it wasn't according to expert analysis) on the 1st Croat goal, then you have Given making a decent save, only to have the ball bounce off his hands, off the post and in off his head, then you have the non-call on Keane in the box ...well, things looked worse than it was. Ire;and played decent, but lacked invention and were too often caught flat-footed by Modric et al. Not that I expected them to get out of the group stage, but disappointing.Russia looks super hot.The Spain- Italy match was quite entertaining, even though it was a 1-1 drawUkraine-Sweden was one of the better matches to watchGood for Denmark, standing up to HollandTough luck for Portugal, but the Germans (best midfield in the tourney?) were marginally better

A few reasons 1) This forum barely has enough traffic to support the forums it already has2) The vast majority of the small pool of remaining regular posters are north american. North americans, by and large, don't give a shit about soccer.3) it's not hockey.

I've watched most of the matches since the quarterfinals. Rooting for Italy because that win over Germany was so much fun.
