I am going to lose tonight no matter what I do because I can't beat the 2010 Champs with the team I have to work with. The team that scores in flurries on non-gamedays and puts up easter eggs on gamedays. So I thought I would look to you fine hockey minds to set my lineup.

Here are your choices for this evening.

Defense:
Francois Beauchemin @ Minny
Trevor Daley vs LA
Yannik Weber @ BOS

Well that was easy, can't even field a full defense tonight. Well than let us move on to...

Forwards:
Scott Hartnell vs Wpg
Radim Vrbata vs NJ
Derek Roy vs Cls
Tomas Plekanec @ BOS
Benoit Pouliot vs MTL
Cal Clutterbuck vs Anh
Dominic Moore @ Nsh
Troy Brouwer @ Edm
Jared Stoll @ Dal
Byran Little @ Phi
Ilya Kovalchuk @ Phx

Goalies are set. My only choice is TB @ Nash. Probably should go no goalies but I can never actually pull that trigger.

Steve,

It doesn't matter who you start because you have a horse shoe up your ass so far I'm not really sure how you get through the day. You must be gay.

Here's my suggestion:

1. Ilya Kovalchuk NJ
2. Tomas Plekanec MTL
3. Scott Hartnell PHI
4. Derek Roy BUF
5. Troy Brouwer WAS
6. Bryan Little WPG

7. Yannick Weber MTL
8. Trevor Daley DAL
9. Francois Beachemin ANA
10. Ryane Clowe SJ

G. TB

Note: I would never go with No Goalies because you are essentially betting that your goalies are going to give up 6 or more goals. That's a long shot bet with any team.

I would never go with Daley: LAK leads the league in GAA.

BTW, I have the LAK GOALIES available for trade if anyone wants to upgrade their AHL team.

I would go with Kovalchuk, Plekanec, Hartnell, Brouwer, Stoll and Roy for your forwards with Kovie as OT.

I really dont like that rule that you can actually dress no goalies.

Even though its never the ideal play IMO, even the worst teams dont give up 6 or more goals 90% of the time.

Mine seem to give up 5 or more goals a lot. That is why it is always an option for me.

TB has given up 5 twice, 6 and 7 goals a game in this short season.

Ok, so I think it is fair to say we will put

Kovy
Roy
Plecs
Hartnell

So the last two spots are between Stoll, Brouwer, and Little. I might throw Vrbata into the mix.

Evidence to support my submission...my affidavit, if you will...sorry, I'm in lawyer mode smile.gif

Even Strength TOI per game
Little 14:04
Vrbata 12:40
Stoll 12:39
Brouwer 12:34

SH TOI per game
Little 2:09
Vrbata 1:57
Stoll 1:20
Brouwer 1:07

PP TOI per game
Vrbata 4:32
Little 3:25
Stoll 1:33
Brouwer 1:31

TOTAL TOI per game
Little 19:39
Vrbata 19:11
Stoll 15:33
Brouwer 15:14

Goals by team played for:
Brouwer - WAS 30 goals in 7 games
Vrbata - PHX 22 goals in 8 games
Little - WPG 17 goals in 8 games
Stoll - LOS 17 goals in 8 games

Based on my intricate system that involves awarding points for gut feeling and the removal of points for pretty-boy nancery, I had to eliminate Stool (lol...I'm leaving that) right off the bat.

Little's icetime and the fact that he appears "due" imo makes him a good choice.

This leaves a decision between Vrbata and Brouwer. Vrbata is going up against NJ and Brouwer is going up against EDM. You already have Kovalchuk going in the NJ/PHO game so spreading your assets around favours Brouwer as how many high-scoring games is NJ typically invloved in? Plus, although Vrbata averages almost 4 more minutes than Brouwer...Brouwer's minutes are with a Washington team that has scored 30 goals in 7 games and Vrbata's minutes are with a team that has scored 22 goals in 8 games.

My recommendation is that Little and Brouwer be your final two forwards.
