I am seriously in love with Zooey Deschanel so I'll watch it anyway but I don't think it will be around long unless they step it up.

Hard to judge any show after one episode. If I can get through 3 and it still holds my interest than I am good. I love Zooey as well and have been looking forward to it. I am not fond of the douche guy, but I like coach and the normal guy. I will give it 2 more eps though.

Steve,

It doesn't matter who you start because you have a horse shoe up your ass so far I'm not really sure how you get through the day. You must be gay.

She's typically a great side character, I don't picture her carrying a show.

I don't know. She has 3 other co-stars so it might be doable since I don't think she would need to carry it. But the douchey guy might annoy me enough to not see a 4th ep.

I liked it, I actually laughed out loud a couple times, which is rare for me when I watch sitcoms. My comment to my wife was "this is a show that could really really suck with the wrong cast", but they seemed to have found the right people and the right note.Hopefully they can keep this going, but it seems like a big challenge because the characters are right on that edge of being too cartoonish. Move one way, they're boring, move the other way, it's just a live-action cartoon. Stay where you are and the joke wears thin quickly. It takes good writers to get a couple seasons out of a premise like this.

The Wayans brother won't be on the show--I think he taped the pillot before Happy Endings got picked up.I liked New Girl, but I had a hard time with no one on the looks/awkward ratio of Zoey D. She's a beautiful woman, with a real specific look, and it's weird none of the characters on the screen mention it.

Correct but he is Damon Wayans Jr.I liked it and it actually grew as it went on (ratings), actually picking up viewers from Glee.

Episode 2: Dropping off the cliff. I wondered if that would happen, the premise is funny but very thin. Hopefully they can pick it back up.

I didn't see that much of a difference. How did it drop off a cliff?

No Coach was a disappointment. Chemistry definitely suffered.
there were no special effects, no special effects.

I thought the writing was clearly better in this ep than the pilot. I enjoyed it.

It was OK, nothing great. Think the lead in from Glee may not work well for it.

FOX has ordered an additional 11 episodes of the hit comedy NEW GIRL, bringing the series to a 24-episode season order, it was announced today by Kevin Reilly, President of Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company. “We love the charming Zooey Deschanel and the entire cast, we’re knocked out with the work that Liz Meriwether and the whole staff is doing and we are really psyched about the upcoming episodes in the pipeline," said Reilly. “It's great that audiences have responded so positively so far and we're confident that even more people will embrace the show – and more comedy on FOX – this season." NEW GIRL premiered as FOX’s highest-rated fall sitcom debut in 10 years. Since it launched, the single-camera comedy has quickly established itself as Tuesday’s No. 1 series among Adults 18-49 and this season’s No. 1 new series among Adults 18-34, Women 18-34 and Teens.

Sweet. I enjoy it. It's not the next Seinfeld but it is an entertaining 22 minutes on a night where I watch nothing else at all because it all sucks.
